I'm already not sure how Brighton can accommodate all of the young attacking midfielders they currently have. It would surely be overkill for them to move for Asprilla this window as well.
Fully expecting him to leave during this window given the state of the clubs finances and the squad rebuild needed. It will be a shame we didnt get to see him develop properly but any decent offer worth north of £20 million and he is gone I think.
Highly doubt we get an offer of £20m for a player who is incredibly talented, but who has only performed in bursts and who plays for a club who need the money. Tbf, I think we keep him, just like how we kept JP after the first relegation, clubs will want him, but will want to have a proper look at him
Don’t think he will be gone this summer unless a bid comes in that we can’t turn down. However, if he continues to progress this season as we all expect, he could be our £20mil+ deal next summer.
The way the club operates, they will send him to Udinese if that helps boost his future value and moves cash into our balance sheet. The words in his ear will be. Look at Richarlison and Pedro. They went when the money was right, and that means more money for you too. Another couple of seasons at Watford makes you a more likely first team choice for a bigger club. Personally I think they have a potentially better player than Pedro on the books. Clearly he needs more games under his belt. Another season playing Championship football with us will do him no harm. Unless it’s a silly bid, I can’t see him moving this summer.
Sports Witness report that Asprilla has changed his representation, while Brighton among others may try to attract him? https://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-...ead-transfer-window-several-clubs-interested/
Can't see anything happening with him this window. Showed great promise in his first season but still has a long way to develop - likes of Brighton don't need to take a gamble on him now, whilst we won't want to be cashing in before he's reached potential. He should be seeking to cement his place in the team this season, with more game time and impressing on any canny scouts, so he can give the club a nice problem to have in the summer.
I think it'll be a smart move to signal for Brighton (and others) his price as the season progresses. He starts in his current shirt (£18m) borrows Tom Dele-B's then Kalu's and should finish up using Okoye's (£35m) as I doubt that one'll be worn out this season.
This guy reckons we are trying to sell Asprilla. Hopefully just rubbish . https://twitter.com/BaitVic/status/1681016947377307648
Wouldn't surprise me, we are penniless. The Kamara deal, getting dosh in for Pedro asap, selling Kalu's underwear for 20p, desperate stuff.
His original agent says in the interview something along the lines of 'there's a legal dispute re: changing agents, we've spoken to Watford and they want it resolved quickly as it could hinder a sale'. So not unreasonable to suggest that the agent is saying we're at least open to selling him this summer even if we don't have any concrete offers. Of course it's an agent talking so take everything with a punch of salt...
Cannot get into the side Saturday, no show again tonight. Could of done with a bit of spark to try to win the game before it went to pens. Surely not being cotton wool wrapped for a hidden sale?
Looks very likely he will be on his way. No injury mentioned and makes no sense he wasn’t part of the squad.
He was definitely part of the squad. He was kitted up and warming up at half time and came out for the warm down at the end.
Hope it's just a case of Ismael not fancying him yet, it did take a while for Hughes to be integrated into the squad a few years ago, and he's not the only one that hasn't got a game that you might 'expect'
Hopefully when Pozzo sells him for £15m and signs only bargain bucket tat or something to sort out Bayat it will finally stop his fans eulogising about how amazing the transfer window has been (for the 4th window in a row). My current favourite is this concept Pozzo/Manga are going to make a big push next year (aka the “multi year plan”). The money is either feasible or it isn’t. Do they think Pozzo is going to pay down all debt and then randomly ramp it up again next season?
Yes but not risked with any game time. Not sure which is worse, imminent sale or VI doesn’t fancy him for any time on the pitch even in the Mickey Mouse cup .
The transfer drumbeat continues to rumble from Colombia... http://sportwitness.co.uk/brighton-...duos-interest-in-signing-has-gained-strength/
A good return to action, with no move to Brighton on the horizon and JP's boys putting the scum to the sword, I think it's fair to say Brighton are in my good books for today!
https://twitter.com/WD18Fans/status/1691155195273555968?t=Wx2bvdJexBqEQNMzs4l9Aw&s=19 I don't know how anyone can watch this and say "if we get £15/20m we should sell and get a striker". The boy is absolutely mustard. His pass selection and weight of pass has no right being this good at 19. Play him every week, let him make mistakes, he'll be a monster in a year or two. More potential than Richarlison at the same stage, and on a par with JP, imo. If the kid had any luck he'd have about 20 assists for us already.
Not his best game (had a great chance to get a ball into Bayo in the first half), but there were flashes of what he's capable of
And that is why, despite what he and his agent might think, he is not a Premier League quality player....yet. Have another one or two seasons with us to iron out those little mistakes and he could become a player of JP's quality one day.
Literally in a competitive Premier League squad and getting some game time at only 21 years of age. I think that qualifies as PL quality doesn't it?
Last year they may have been, they got turned over by West Ham yesterday at home. You can't sell your best players and replace them with players from the Championship and expect to compete with the top six
