Basically a taller version of Kiko. Feel he'd probably get absolutely destroyed by a decent winger, but it is fun to watch a full back go on a full pitch run to drive the team forward.
Hopefully not as injury prone ? Nice goal - hopefully not a one off ! Tried to find Martins a lot but kept finding Rotherham players .
I think his and Martins link up will improve it seemed as if a few players were still not sure and not on the same wave length yesterday not just down the right but in other areas as well.
Definitely a player who just needs to find his feet. More positives than negatives. Can certainly deliver into the box first time.
I think he found his feet better than anyone else. If Gaspar and Asprilla could find their feet we'd have won 4-1
I think the best thing about him is that there's a lot of potential to work with. He's quick and skilful, which is a good starting point. He's already contributed more going forward in a game and half than Ngakia has done in three seasons
Seems to be a Kiko regen, which, when we were in the Prem, was not always a good thing, but in the Championship when we were often the better team, he was electric
Report from a Benfica chap I work with was that he's good going forward, pretty quick, and good technically, but pretty sh1te defensively. So yeah, sounds like Kiko mkII.
If only we’d have appointed a coach who liked to set up with 3 at the back with wing backs providing the attacking spark….oh, wait…
While of course it would have been nice to sign Ferreira when we really needed him in the summer, I think for a club with ambitions to go up, a full-back like him is what you need really. I do wonder if we did get him in the summer and helped Edwards stay in his job, would we be any better for it?
I thought he looked decent last season. Strange move to shift him for no money when our only other right backs are Andrews (inexperienced) and Ngakia (not good at football).
I bloody knew they’d do this. B’stards. Now we’re stuck with Ngakia. This is asset stripping. Even though it’s a loan it’s another out the door to benefit Udinese.
Christ that's a poor move. Was looking forward to seeing him in a VI system, and seeing much less of Ngakia
I think we’re being screwed over now. I mentioned it the other day, but I think Gino is clearing his desk and readying to sell. That’s why there’s no investment and players are being quietly moved over to Udinese.
Well we know why Ngakia has been starting in pre-season then, Ismael actually rates him. He should be sacked on the spot.
I think we’re clearing the decks of high earners and foreign players to give us a bit more latitude to get Ismael-type players in but only time will tell. Gino may or may not be selling but don’t really see how Kabasele and Ferreira on loan is proof of that.
We spend £2m of our precious money only to give him to Udinese! Pozzo doesn’t care about the club anymore. Just look at the state of the squad. It’ll be no surprise to me if he sells Asprilla just to get a bit more money in. Gino setting everything up to sell is the only thing that fits what’s currently happening, imo.
It’s a hunch. I thought they’d switch Ferreira and they have. Gino clearly likes Kabs and has always looked after him. Same as he’s done for Success. This has a feel of what’s best for Udinese and to hell with Watford.
Kabasele and Quina to Udinese was the same? To me this seems like us shipping foreign misfits to Udinese so we can clear the decks a bit and have more room to manoeuvre in the market.
All I’m seeing is cost-cutting. There’s very little rebuilding going on. That’s 18 senior players gone and just 4 signed. It’s a joke.
Ok. Cost cutting is definitely going on (although I think you have to clear the decks to rebuild). But how does that link to facilitating a sale as opposed to getting the club on an even keel financially.
As I said, it’s a hunch. If Gino was serious about rebuilding we wouldn’t have a squad looking like it does right now. He’d have invested at least something. £58m raised in transfer fees, and just £50k spent. The only thing that fits, is he wants to recoup as much money as possible and get out of Dodge. I could be wildly wrong about this, but that’s fine. I’m just posting my feelings right now, as I’m furious with the direction we are apparently going in.
People really shouldn't have been so mean to him last month at the parlaci. Now he's trashing his train set before storming off to his room in tears.
But he’s not recouping any money from loaning Ferreira to Udinese is he? Your hunch may be true, but this is not further evidence of it.
