Thank god Xisco's grasp of English hasn't improved. I wonder who he really thinks he's signing on loan?
I tried asking their Chairman for a comment on this transfer but he’s still banging on about Carlton Palmer
https://www.sheffieldwednesday.news...-player-that-xisco-munoz-raved-about-in-2021/ I reckon Xisco should put a lot of money on himself to be the earliest Championship sacking of the season if this optimistic analysis is anything to go by, based as it is on Fletcher's 2 Carabao cup goals in 2021.
I imagine there are Sheffield Wednesday fans taking those Xisco comments as some sort of encouragement, just like our own idiots.
I feel we have been extremely unfair to Sheffield Wednesday. Sold them Abdi when he was crocked and now this!
Seems unlikely unless he has rejected the idea of a new deal . We cannot just get rid of everyone without getting replacements in ..
Around the time we sold them Abdi I think they had about 6 ex-Orns, Abdi, Fessi Pudil, Buckley, and I think they also had McGugan and Hoskins too? Was a fun Fifa save
Sad to see him leave. I expected him to achieve cult hero status this year - ie, he'd be utter sh1te but he'd "put a shift in" "put himself about" and generally "get stuck in"
Why not? The squad was very poor. It was about time the deadwood was cleared out. More should have been released or sold. We are not going to get promotion, so survival is the first priority. Rebuilding takes time, but with such a very small transfer budget this season, we will just have accept players on loan deals from clubs perceived to be at a lower standard than Watford. An interesting season ahead.
I'm sure more will go and others arrive. Agreed good job in getting rid of so much deadwood, frankly it's astonishing how fast they've achieved it. Recruitment is and will always be difficult especially in their official first window but so far it's not been amazing. It could all change very quickly though.
As I say as it stands just seems to be a lot of loan players , ones out of contract and a couple let go or sold on for money. Without a lot coming in for now . A re build more selling a load of regular first teamers and replacing them with fairly long term signings or one that might bring value? I do agree we have reduced the squad by seeing people leave not wanted so probably saved on wages and hangers on but as I say now got big gaps in it - hopefully Lewis is actually coming to make it 2 left backs in the squad as an example. Of the official 3 signings 2 made so far haven’t had a Pre season start and one has been written off as rubbish already (and at 30 odd hardly part of a long term future ) I presume Ince is injured and Healey will be back up for a new striker . For what it’s worth I think both could do well if given a chance but definitely need more squad depth .
