Can you please post your source for this 'rumour'? We've all been waiting for about 6 months, your laptop must be mighty slow! Any day now, I'm sure...
All we have to go on is this from Andrew French: 'It isn’t a free transfer although the fee remains undisclosed, and the three-year deal includes a significant sell-on percentage for Barcelona, larger than the 20% which has been reported.'
There's no way that the fee was £3m then. I know without a doubt that spezia had the option to buy him after the loan for £2.8m (with no sell on fee). I'd be surprised if the fee was over £1.5m
If you are a fan, you don't need to look further than the club you support. The information is out there
I'm sure! Could you do me a massive favour though and point me in the direction of it? Literally any decent info that backs up your claim would be great. Thanks!
I don't see that . Look at our other deals done. We have paid way over the odds for certain players. Bayo and Okoye spring to mind. Combined, these players could have been purchased for £7m - £8m less than we paid. Someone made a lot of commission on those deals.
Oh my, what nasty people I was right about: Our amount of debt.* That Manaj was going to be let go That Bayo was going to be loaned out Okoye would not play for Watford. Not good enough (yet or ever. Will shall see about Kalu Manaj was not a free transfer. I understand the fee was £3m. How this is broken down l do not know. As there is a sell on clause, my guess is that Barcelona have taken a gamble on the sell on transfer price against a set fee. Watford FC stated it was an undisclosed fee with a sell on clause. *l don't buy into the recent comments by our owner and CEO. I am no different than others regarding guesswork, hearsay or half facts than a professional journalist. You throw enough muck and some will stick.
I think you might be waiting a while! Given the sell-on clause was 50%, it was surely just a token fee.
And there we have it. A black and white admission that he just makes things up without supporting evidence, and if he's right it's just blind luck.
