Just saw this on WML site - interesting `alternative view`. Just checking on the capology site I reckon we could cut the wage bill in half.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have any of us stopped and thought how angry Gino must be.

The recent Capology figures show that the total salary bill for our lethargic, cant be bothered, I will play when I feel like it unprofessional players runs at an estimated £29 million pounds for the last year, Add to that the countless teams of trainers, physios, managers and hangers on and we are talking £35 million plus.

    https://www.capology.com/club/watford/salaries/

He has tried 3 different managers this season , 6 in the last two, and not one of them could get a tune out of the players. All of those managers have been well paid and had good pay days when leaving.

On top of the players not doing it, the fans are on his back and the vitriol has been way too nasty in some cases.

If I was Gino I would be so genuinely and rightly angry.

Yes we change managers to often, but if it was your money and you saw someone not doing it, wouldn’t we all have tried something else.

Yes we can all see errors, but other than donning a pair of boots and the number 9 shirt, I don’t see what else he could have done.

We need a clear the air meeting but If I was Gino I would come out fighting.

I don’t think that is going to get a lot of support on here.

He might be angry but then people will say it’s his own fault for sacking a manager who might be getting promoted in 2 hours .

Lost me at 'it's his money'. Misunderstands entirely how personally protected football club owners are from the consequences of their actions. Club owes £124m, Pozzo doesn't. Okay, so his previously valuable asset is tanking in front of his eyes but that's because the decisions he – or his senior executives – have taken have failed spectacularly.

If you don't want a squad of half-interested mercenaries to trot about looking barely interested, don't use an agent to identify and deliver three quarters of the players. The conflict of interests is right there are the end of Pozzo's nose and he chose his course of action regardless.

There are still way too many fans that have little comprehension of how Pozzos failings over the last 4/5 years will have huge knock on effects for the club over the coming years

He could stop giving 3 year contracts to senior management staff at a failing club. That would be a start

This is embarrassing even for the WML where complete denial and Pozzo apolojism knows no bounds. There's one bloke on there who consistently criticises the current regime, I believe he is one of the main anti-Pozzo critics in The Athletic comments section, but generally it has an air of meek acceptance and servitude. I see the WML has been asked if it wants to send 1 whole representative to the "June Fan Event". Has the same courtesy been extended to this Forum? The questions have to be sent in beforehand and are then subjected to a round of vetting. What a pointless exercise, but at least it means the hierarchy can tick off a particular EFL box. What a shameless, risible club we have become.

I mean it’s not as if Gino has had any responsibility in the accumulation of those unprofessional underperforming players, is it?

Youre missing the point. Gino created this structure, this culture and this environment. Its his failure. Ultimately its all on him.

This is the thing, these idiots believe pozzo has financed our team personally for the past decade, instead of saddling the club, not himself, with mounting debt.

They act like he's special for having delivered a few years of qualified success, by spending profligately and unwisely.

They think that him making a few quid here and there on Colombian and Venezuelan teenagers is mitigation.

Yet here we are, in the same league position as when he arrived, but 10x the debt.

And in that time Duxbury has made about £8/£9 million. Pozzo plenty on his loans plus whatever his other arrangements may be. Bayat has done very nicely. Juicy contract for Giaretta.

A lovely gravy train for people who leave our club saddled with unmanageable debt after vast amounts of income. It’s infuriating people still back these people.

GP is getting all the flak he deserves, no sympathy. The only angle I do agree with is that too many of the players are let off the hook too lightly by our fans.

    Unpopular players = ****
Popular players = not their fault they can't be bothered to work hard because of GP. A number of people were bending over backwards to make excuses for Sarr being a waste of space last season.

Lack of hard work is inexcusable, however chaotic the environment.

Whilst this is blindingly obvious to those that have already posted , to get out of the Championship you need players who will run through a brick wall for the cause . The holy grail is a bit of quality that will run through that wall a.k.a. Burnley . That lot who won the play off have little quality but will scrap for every ball.
We have too many show ponies and prima donnas.
So, whoever is in charge of recruitment is ultimately responsible IMO

Not me. Ultimately the **** players are here because of Gino, but their individual performances have for the vast majority been unforgivable. I don't want a new dawn with a new owner and these same wastrels. I wanna see a new owner, new culture and new team.

Only if he can't get it for 20p less by getting his mate to get it for him by some dubious means, even if it's out of date and not worth it.
