Never seen a player more highly rated off such flimsy evidence.

arrived and marginalised from the squad
Picked and had a promising run
    Injured rest of season
Injured first 2 months next season
Handful of appearances feeling his way back
    Breaks leg

    It’s bonkers!

Scored a stonking direct free kick though. That's gotta count for a bit of good vibes about him.

After a rocky start, he was decent in the short time he had for us in the Prem, but I think it's fair to say he can be an absolute gamechanger at Championship level

He was excellent in the appearances he made this season and I doubt he was even fully fit. Makes us a much much better team.

It's not difficult, but he visibly has so much more quality than the rest of our midfield

Interesting seeing the respective trajectories of Muani and Louza.

Correct all-round, but even I'll admit I wouldn't have expected him to be this lame even in the Championship.

I wonder what their respective trajectories would have been if Muani had joined us and Louza Frankfurt.

Louza is a good player. But weak but definitely one of our better players. But the club and the environment are crap.

Sure, I have pondered that - but ultimately I think there's a reason why one got signed by a fairly well-run team that'd just qualified for the Europa League, while the other ended up at us.

He was one of our worst players in a poor PL team, and now he's a fairly average and certainly not stand-out player in our mid-table Championship team.

    What a be11end.

And markedly underlining Wilder's point about us currently not being a team but collection of individuals.

Also, clearly those stats don't take in to account 'number of opposition attacks not bothering to track back for'.

I don't think he gets credited for an assist for that. I think that goes to Davis

Thought he was excellent today (as he was in the reverse fixture). I do hope he sticks around as when on it and fully fit, he’s a class above. I know some on here think we should just cash in but I think that would be short sighted.

We need to find a 6 who can both win the ball and dictate the play from deep, which will free up Louza as an 8 (alongside Asprilla or Kone). Doesn’t have to be too flashy, even Ben Pearson would suffice.

Ending up scoring 5 goals in the equivalent of around 16 games. Can definitely be a regular source of goals from midfield if played slightly more advanced next season.

Some very nice through balls and some terrible passing also. Still very weak but pushed up the field definitely makes him a better player.

Stats aren’t the whole picture but he profiles a lot better than most of our squad. Wonder what his radar looks like on Statsbomb @reids

Well, if Kone and Kayembe are supposedly joining JP out the door, plus Sarr surely joining them, that should give us a bit of flexibility to keep the likes of Louza. He does look better up the field, but it does beg the question, can we fit Louza and Asprilla in the same team? Does Asprilla even stay?

One of our most rounded midfielders in my opinion. He's been poor at times this season but I'd definitely like to keep hold of him for next season.

They both need to be stronger. Both get shrugged off the ball far to easily imo. Yes they both have good points but they don't outweigh the negatives for me. If they had to aggressive midfielders behind then maybe it could work.

I don't think that'd be too much of an issue; Asprilla still won't be ready to start most games next season and Louza can't stay fit.

Asprilla would still get plenty of minutes off the bench plus occasional starts, and can also sometimes fill-in at RW as well as AM.

I signed up to Discovery Plus tonight as it comes with the Tv package I’ve got.
Scrolling through the sport I took a look at what football they had.
Turns out they have short well produced documentary features on World Stars.
First one of interest was Imran Louza.

Showed his upbringing in Nantes on a rough estate from French and Moroccan parents and interviews (at Colney) with Imran - who came across really well and a humble, grateful but bloody tough cookie - and his old youth coaches at Nantes (of whom he was a huge fan from childhood).

Richarlison also gets the same Discovery Plus treatment and a home town visit. He doesn’t really mention Watford in his interview but talks highly of Everton.

If last season taught us anything about him, it's that he's not a deep-lying playmaker, in a more advanced role he's ace, genuinely one of the best in the league

Looks like the player least invested in the Ismael plan. Passenger for large periods today and not really that up for the fight. Thought the QPR game was a sign of a hungry player ready to show his class and monster this division, but nope, that looks like the outlier.

Wasn't at his best today but still made more tackles than any other Watford midfielder today and made more key passes than anyone on the pitch. He was still putting himself about and winning us corners towards the end of the game as well. Don't get the criticism of him this season, even on his off days he's one of the few players we have with a bit of quality and he's certainly working harder under Ismael.
