Thought Pedro was lovely to watch. He was walking through their team at times. Sarr and Davis were hopeless
We were attacking and had a penalty shout as the protest march started so most people were focused on the play . The banner had been confiscated and the rebels were being dragged off to the gulag by the time the on pitch excitement had passed
Dunno about the rest of you, but I'm going to be mighty confused when Pozzo's managerial switcheroo means we sneak our way into the play offs, smash our rivals in the semis, then avenge our two bullyings from Millwall in the final.
Totally agree. Stats can prove what ever you want- last week we had 75% possession and lost -this week we had <40% plus 4 shots on target scoring twice whilst B City had 6 on target- i reckon Dan B made 3 good saves whilst i dont recall their goalie making any and f~~c~~d up one leading to our second. Lack of atmosphere-maybe 14,000 there and given number of posts on here tonight no one is in the slightest bit interested in our final few games. Most other sides around us won-we are still 12th whatever the gap to 6th is. I thought B City were worth a draw-we won without being convincing. Playing without Adeyamo on the bench looked weird-surely Wilder would know Davis would either go off injured or gassed-no one would know if he played-totally anonymous. Sarr I thought put in some effort-first half winning two headers ! but his reluctance to take anyone on even 1 v 1 is bizarre. He has checked out. Pedro tried a few more things that came off for him today. MoM i would say was Wes-sure him and Porteous were stretched at times but generally recovered. 2-0 but we looked fragile -as do most fans looking on-we have not got what is required to get in the play offs and even with a miracle the lack of composure/leaders etc will not get us through anyone with any commitment. I have renewed for next season
I have one pretty much every year. I don’t look at the needle. In my mind the dose is licked into my spine by kittens.
A handful of fans around the 1881 side of the Rookery did sing 'we want pozzo out' when the banner was on show. It really was only a few people though and they were scattered about abit so the chant never really got going.
I travelled over 100 miles each way to watch that today. I spent about 20 minutes watching the game. 20 minutes on the concourse Chatting at half time. The rest catching up with old friends on the terrace. I barely left my seat when we scored the first. I was busy chatting when we scored the second. Fair to say I'm pretty apathetic towards the tail end of this season. I honestly had a lovely day catching up with old friends though.
I have some sympathy for Sarr, the club have messed him about and he looks shot of confidence. Davis looks like he's been on the Assombalonga diet. He definitely didnt look that fit. As for Kamara, would rather see Morris given a run out tbh. Atleast he's our player.
Quite a few empty seats today and the crowd was noticeably smaller than it has been this season I thought. Perhaps those who would have been most vocal in support of the banner had already decided to stay away?
Like others have said the subs really made a difference. The ref’s changes of mind were astonishing. Davis’s lack of effort is a sorry sight. Joao was cut above the rest. Kamara’s passing was way off too.
Every player at Watford has played under the same circus conditions, none have downed tools and lacked effort as much as Sarr.
To me it looked like a penalty, as well. I thought the ref got that wrong. I thought the ref was doing alright, - and then mucked it all up with a couple of bizarre decisions: Where he clearly made one decision, fussed about with an injured player or such, and then changed his ruling minutes later with no apparent consultation. A lot of perplexed spectators and players.
I thought Bristol city were decent and one of the better sides I’ve seen at the vic this season . They came out and gave it a go. They were just unable to finish their chances. Watford looked like the away side particularly in the first half. Pedro had one of his better games particularly in the second half. Was nice to see Ryan Andrews making his home debut and the lad did well. Not much else to interest today really. Kind of weird we are still only 4 points off the playoffs but we all know it isn’t gonna happen .
I agree he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch yesterday. Bristol City players looked scared to challenge him in the end as he was just going past them at ease.
Sarr set the tone for his latest ‘performance’ in the very first minute yesterday. With the ball at his feet and virtually under no pressure from a defender he way over hit his cross before trotting back to the halfway line. My greatest fear for next season is that no club is prepared to pay us enough to sign him. I can see us having to accept a low, ‘undisclosed’ offer from some French club to get rid of him.
He doesn’t get the ball when unmarked outwide so then kept drifting into the middle of the pitch getting in the way and leaving no outlet on the wing .
Bloke in the Upper GT got very angry about the banner - was all ready to get down there and beat the living daylights out of the chaps carrying it. It wasn't Gino.
But when he did get the ball when unmarked out wide he’d inevitably (a) slow to a crawl so he was quickly no longer unmarked, (b) make a beeline for the nearest opponent so he was quickly no longer unmarked or (c) over hit it to no one. I accept his confidence is shot to bits but he appears to have stopped doing even the basics at this point. His main attribute is his pace but he seems unwilling to kick the ball beyond his opponent and back himself to out-sprint him. It’s infuriating.
