So, this is the first of our final 12 matches. An easier run of fixtures? A great chance of finishing in the top 6? A great chance of Bilic getting the sack before the end of March? Winning all 12 games and finishing 2nd and automatic promotion? All these scenarios COULD be achieved, I'm not going to predict anything, apart from Keinan Davis getting a brace, of pies, probably Chicken and Mushroom. I recorded a Watford song about 9 years ago. I asked my Facebook friends for song titles, and obviously someone wrote one about me singing how rubbish Watford are. Obviously you don't have to watch it. It was all improvised so it does come across quite amateur. I usually play guitar. I speak slowly anyway, so I might sound a little stupid. I also occasionally teach kids to enjoy music and write their own songs, however basic and simple they could be. Preston's last game was a win against Wigan, but their recent form has been a little poor.
I'm getting Frank Sidebottom meets Joy Division vibes here. Nice to see Power, Corruption and Lies by New Order on the wall. An uninspiring 2-0 win here, which will ultimately be meaningless.
Frank Sidebottom meets Joy Division, that's a great way of putting it. Just trying to be like fun songs but ending up depressing as **** like Joy Division. Thanks for noticing the New Order album cover too. That is a groundbreaking album. 0-0
Must-win this really, we'll be at least 3 points adrift of 6th by the time this fixture arrives, we're in danger of being cut adrift
This could be Bilic’s last match. This is a game where there can be no excuses for not winning. Preston are only 5 points behind us, but are as mid-table as mid-table can be. We need probably 8 wins from our final 12 games to secure a play off place. So this has to be a win just in order to keep faint hopes alive. Fail to win, or at least put in a convincing performance, then Bilic will be gone I’m sure. Preston are masters of the 0-0 draw, and I can see them easily frustrating our feeble attack. Even though we should win, if Preston score the first goal, then I can see us struggling to break them down.
Their away form is pretty decent and usually get clean sheets . 0-0 then ? (Sorry HB1 - see you have pretty much said that !)
Hard to remember I know, but towards the start of the season, us and Preston were the only unbeaten sides in the division. King of draws, Preston will no doubt come to the Vic for a point. Two years ago we smashed them 4-1 in this same fixture, but I am not expecting anything like that this time around. Our de-motivated striker and all around useless lump will trudge around the pitch being first pick again on the Team Sheet. As soon as Louza went off on Saturday we lost any slight momentum we had an fell to bits. I understand weening him back, but we need to keep our best players on the pitch. Ditch Bacuna for Asprilla or Martins, ditch Davis and start Araujo alongside Pedro if need be. Let's go two up top and stop trying to play tippy tap football in March. As others have said, this is the business end of the season, and it starts now. If we win our next four games (yeah right!) then it will surely put us right in the mixer again. But that is just it, we cannot string wins together. Three is our best this season. Four in a row? More chance of Gino lacing his boots up and playing as RB on Saturday. Not saying we cannot do that, we can, but our poorly coached cloggers will just do the bare minimum to get by as usual and rely on a bit of magic from JP to eek out a win. Three points maybe all that matters in the grand scheme of things, but the performance, and any hint of the players' knowing Bilic "could" be gone if they lose will no doubt play on a few minds. Draw. 5-5
I absolutely had to do my own version of that list for our season. Great songs btw 1. Watford Are **** 2. Take My Season Ticket Away 3. Something So Wrong At The Club 4. The Other Teams Wipe The Floral With Us Song 5. Season Is A Stitch Up 6. < no idea on this one > 7. Enjoy The Silence Of The Rookery 8. Watford Went Down One To Two 9. Blue Deeney 10. We've Had A Season Of Toil And Strife
Wow, thanks for taking the time and effort to do your version of the ten songs I did. Diolch yn fawr iawn. Enjoy the silence at the Rookery is quality, and Wolf Moon into Blue Deeney, what's that all about?
EM. "Only connect" which they have taken for the television programme I assume,is his line or theme from Howards End. Rooks Cottages, the real house,is in Old St Evenage.
I never knew that, interesting. Just checked on Amazon and you can get one of his books for over £60, a bargain. I go to the library, it's slightly cheaper plus one of the young women who works there has awesome crossed eyes.
Has he signed it or is it annotated?! That's a lot. None of mine cost that much, although my new Ancient Greek Lexicon by Liddell and Scott is £158 and Waterstones in WGC mislaid it! That's enough to make you cross eyed!
She's not that bad, I think she wears specs to hide them a little but they are awesome for being weird. She must be about 20 and she wears Gothic attire, black stockings all the jizz. She told me a story about when she went up a mountain here in North Wales, and she came across three Belgian dudes who were all wired on some kind of illegal substance. Bless her, We speak Welsh together.
Getting to that stage in the season, and with the playoff picture so tight, half keeping an eye on other results will be par for the course from now until May. Nothing less than 3 points acceptable, and probably only good enough to keep us in touch with other teams around us playing each other and potentially dropping points (Blackburn v Sheff Utd, Millwall v Norwich), and Luton v Millwall both play their game in hand against each other on Tuesday.
I wonder what our odds are for winning our final 12 games? Just for reference, please don't bet a penny on it.
We're showing zero signs of getting our act together, but still think we'll win this one. No chance we'll actually go up though.
