https://www.brfcs.com/forums/forum/4-blackburn-rovers-fans-messageboard/ It does seem a while back now when we went to Ewood Park on that warm autum evening and got totally played off the park in a 2-0 loss. We were awful that night, but we have been worse this season since then. Better in some, average in others. Our league table position points wise at the time of writing reflects perfectly the sort of side we have been all season. Mediocre. We are a bang-average Championship team who currently sit in fifth in the table, below our rivals, way off the top two with outside hopes of a playoff place. It's been discussed to death on this forum about why that is, how the injuries have occured, why we turn up for some games and totally appear to not give a rat's @rse in others. Bilic is still ruling the roost at the moment, but two wins in our last five games is surely getting Gino's tigger finger itchy. Fail to win again on Saturday, he could be very close to the exit door you would assume. However, this game marks the beginning of our toughest run of fixtures all season. Blackburn are no pushovers, with a knack of either winning convincingly or getting battered. However they have bucked that trend with a few draws now. With Sheff Utd and Burnley (both away) lined up after this game, winning this one would almost certainly help to keep us clinging on in the playoffs if both of those results end up being what we predict. Proir to what I said above, Gino would be a very foolish man to sack Bilic in the mist of these fixtures however, with a "manager bounce" being about as effective as a deflated volleyball. There are, however, some positive things happening. One of the biggest pluses, is our injuries are starting to ease, with the welcome return of Pedro and Davis (no matter how statue-esque he continues to be) along side information of a sooner than later return of Louza and Cleverley. Last time out, we were robbed by an awful penalty decision which brought Reading back into the game, but there was no excuse surrounding our Sunday League effort to prevent their equalising goal. It was two points thrown down the drain, and we could of left the ground with zero points had their finishing been on the level you would expect. I cannot possibly predict the lineup as it continues to change each week. I cannot see Pedro starting, he may not be ready, but 45 mins second half would be nice to see. I am going to be honest, I do not feel we will play well enough to win this game, but we cannot play any worse against them than last time out. Can we? Watford 1 Blackburn 1
0-0 as our apathetic slide into mid-table continues. Porteous makes his team mates cry by screaming at them to get stuck in.
Blackburn looked poor last night apart from Sorba Thomas on the right. Porteous looked decent at the weekend as did the kid from Benfica. The return of Pedro as well so going for 2-1 win
This has a draw written all over it. As I'm going to the game I'm feeling like it will be a lucky and positive draw, rather than a mind numbingly boring one.
This really needs to be a win given the 3 games afterwards. Could be a long way from playoffs if we go 2 points from 12 here (presumably including Bilic sacked).
We could probabky get smashed and he will remain in charge I am guessing. Like I stated, bringing it a new coach after this will be akin to us giving CR70 the reigns before Liverpool mauled us in his debut game. If he does go, it will be losing three of our next four. One thing in the new coach's favor - an almost fully fit squad (touch wood) to pick from.
Looking forward to this one. Either we'll see some fresh faces and returnees from injury and paste them, or it will be **** and the BWO will take over the Saturday night forum.
I also hope Bilic gets sacked. I would love to dig out some of the posts praising him after the first couple of wins and how much better than Edwards he is from some of the chief CoGs.
It's actually hysterical reading back through some of the match threads to see how people's opinions change. Some gems I scanned: Kabasele needs to start Kamara is class Gosling should start more often Bayo is decent Kayembe is a beast It's funny how everyone's opinions change match to match. Not accusing anyone - I'm sure I'm just as bad.
My favourite one was the poster who thought Bayo would be a snip at £5m! Also the Kalu bunch who got excited when he put in two decent sub performances and used it as a stick to beat fans who has suggested it was yet another dud to sort out Bayat. Which of course, it was and remains the case.
Kalu instead of Sarr was my favourite. For all Sarrs faults he is streets in front of Kalu. Not including the window that's just closed but the two previous windows to that have been as bad as they possibly could be.
Not saying Bayo can't and hasn't been useful to us at times, but how good would he have had to be to be considered a snip at £5m?
Well Andre' Gray was a bigger snip at 18M and he was almost as gash. Had the odd purple patch but shinning goals was his special power (although he did score a beauty at Fulham (or was it Burnley). Ability wise, both are similar although Bayo is younger and possibly has a chance to get a bit better with time. I would say, Bayo would have to reach Gray's levels of gash to be worthy of something near 5M.

I asked Chat GPT which was better, Watford Football Club or Blackburn Rovers. Its answer was extremely tedious. ‘Comparing the performance of two football clubs is a subjective matter and it depends on various factors such as recent form, player quality, team dynamics, and overall club structure. It's difficult to definitively say whether Watford FC is better than Blackburn Rovers or vice versa. Both teams have had their own share of successes and failures over the years, and it's always possible for either team to outperform the other in a particular season or competition. Ultimately, it's up to individual fans and experts to make their own assessments and draw their own conclusions about which team is "better."’
