His full name is Adolf Hutter. Given the similarity in surname sounds and that he was born in 1970, have to really question his parents!
As far as I'm aware Kone hasn't been loaned anywhere by us and has only played under one manager so far. He's also not been used in an unnatural position. The issue with him is that - as with Asprilla earlier in the season - he just shouldn't be starting every game for us yet, but injuries have forced it. I pointed out that he played a bit casually both in the World Cup and in his Cup debut for us vs Reading. He managed to suddenly increase the speed of his play for his first league game vs Blackpool but he's not quite been able to maintain it - which is understandable given he's still not even played that many pro games in his career yet and the Championship is a level and speed above what he is typically accustomed to. He'll get there though. JP has improved season on season for us, so it's not as if we're entirely hopeless for young players.
Would not be the reich decision You should see the draft logo for the proposed Super Supporters group the club is brainstorming
Watch this clip of our second goal yesterday and try to identify a Watford player who does anything right: https://twitter.com/familyforss/status/1619379853194838017?s=61&t=hKCJaITDYgCWmJf80ABsIA First there’s Kone ghosting past the initial (admittedly remote) chance to intercept the ball then wandering around at random like he’s in a daze for the next few seconds yards from anyone, failing to press or challenge. Then Howson’s left all on his own as Choudhury charges out too late to do anything. Then Sierralta (possibly injured but still…) seems to choose not to stretch to cut out the pass, while Ferreira loses Forss and lets him get ahead of him. Then Kamara runs across and blocks Bachmann’s path for reasons known only to him. Utterly shambolic.
Sorry but for me Bachmann gets away with murder most games. I would lay a large % of blame for both goals yesterday with him. The first one yes Kamara was defending like an 8 year old schoolboy but Bachmann has to make that ball his when he comes out. Its not enough to parry it straight back into danger, a good goalkeeper would have smothered that first time round. The 2nd goal is a joke attempt to close the ball down and make himself bigger. By the time the striker has a shot he is twisted around facing his own net. Anyone could slot it past a keeper who is looking the other way. He is by no means the only one, but just a large sum of a very poor defensive unit. The sooner he is replaced the better because he fills me with 0 confidence.
Kamara's horror show for the first was hilarious but I think this was my favourite goal from yesterday. No fewer than 7 apathetic players all showing a complete lack of awareness.
It's terrifying how easily the midfield is bypassed. No one is anywhere near their man or in a position to intercept.
Yup. I posted on the thread about the one position we should sort out that I’d go for goalkeeper for just that reason.
It's not just the mistakes he makes. His whole demeanor is one of a nervous introvert who doesn't own his penalty box let alone his 6 yard box. That spreads throughout the side.
It should be used for examples of poor defending and pressing. Last week Rotherham were hurling their bodies at everything, this week our players looked so lackadaisical it was laughable.
Bachmann used to be excellent at holding the ball when he made a save, for some reason he's now starting pushing it away usually into a dangerous area. I'm sure it's down to confidence but without a serious backup keeper we have no choice but to play him. I'd honestly give Hamer a go personally.
Absolutely spot on. I believed Bachmann was an excellent showt stopper and usually made the ball stick and making it look easy on many occasions. But he's going to make mistakes when he's our busiest player on the pitch. Stop the schoolboy defending and it would of been a clean sheet.
As an added bonus, you get to see the players' body language after conceding. Bachmann aside, it's heads down, trying to disappear. No arguing, no apologising, no geeing the team up - nothing.
Agree but then when Deeney used to try and do it he was accused of being negative and moaning at others . Total lack of leadership and ability to support each other .
I've just watched Bilic's post match and he looks so angry. At one point I thought he was going to grab the mic and hit the interviewer with it. He is obviously very pi$$ed off with the performance and one word he kept saying was "mistake". Yeah, that whole performance (first half especially) was a huge mistake. To me, that shows he does care and wants us to be better. Problem is, this is what it must be like doing a team talk:
Could of been. But we all know what happens to managers who try to rant and rave to/about the board of a club...
That second goal. it was pure comedy and summed up how poor we are when trying to defend an attack. Three players surrounding the orignal passer who could of been blocked but we stood around like statues. Panic slicing at thin air as they juggled the ball though our clowns. Makes you wonder how much worse we can be possibly play at times.
I was watching SSN during the game. They show the goals when they are scored during games and I missed the context of which game they were showing. I laughed when I saw the first goal as I thought it was some League Two clogger match. I actually thought to myself, at least we're not that sh1t....yet. I didn't recognise it was us as we were in blue and I didn't know who it was trying to make the interception. When I realised it was us and the player was Kamara for the first goal, I just couldn't believe it. It genuinely looked like a goal you see scored in the lower leagues.
I got the impression that we changed formation about 10 minutes in and Bilic put Choudhury in at CB. Even Mrs Peel noticed how far back he was playing.
WO before a quote from SB "Bilic opted to start with Hamza Choudhury on the right of a back three" From where we stood that never changed-it was painful to watch him trying to pass and once trying to dribble out of trouble from inside our 6 yard box in first half-so dangerous-which he just got away with. Ferreria was being deployed ahead of him in the right wing back position-very comfortable on the ball but nothing in the middle with Kone a passenger, Martins with what looked like a free role and Gaspar so weak in the challenge. So all on the players which is mostly right but no blame to Bilic whose tactics where wrong to start with-first half they passed us to death IMHO but no changes till half time-it wasnt working after 20 minutes
What have you got against this guy Goebels to give him that sort of instruction ? Are you mixing him up with Hitler's Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, whose surname was similar, but spelt "Goebbels" ?
