I've never seen this written or indicated anywhere?! I agree that in some ways it was surprising to see Adeyemo get the chance over Adu-Poku; albeit, although Adu-Poku seems better technically and maybe has the higher ceiling ultimately, Adeyemo is clearly physically a bit more ready for men's football at the present moment.
Shaq Forde? He's the most senior of the trio, and was part of the first team last season. Even that miserable bar steward Hodgson gave him praise. Had it not been for injuries I think he'd have made a few squads this season
Not sure tbh. Step 6 and below have a different set of rules, ie no windows, 7 day notices etc. I would think any loan below step 6 (Hitchin are Step 7) wouldn't be counted to the rule of 2 clubs in a season. But thats just my reasoning. Though most pro clubs wouldnt be sending a 2nd year scholar out on loan to that level anyway. Last time was just an emergency thing to help Hitchin out. He will be different I suppose since he is nailed on to get his pro. But normally clubs will be making offers to those scholars they will be giving pro's too in the next couple of months, they would move upto 1st team, U21's/23's depending on the clubs setup. And the Under 16's who are getting scholars and the ones close but not decided upon yet would play up in the Youth team till the end of the season, except in the FA Youth Cup. I can't see how a 17 year old going on loan to a step 7 club till the end of the season would advance his on pitch skills. He's already had the "this is what real football is about on and off pitch" lesson in the month he was at Hitchin. And I'm not sure if he is ready for or many clubs would take a risk on him in the step 5 to step 3 bracket on a half season basis, his development at 17 is probably best served within the clubs internal structure. As said though, his case is slightly different as he is physically a lot older than his 17 years and he has a championship goal to his name.
Wonderful moment for him and would be happy if he's around the squad for the remainder of the season as sometimes young players can play above their level with enthusiasm and belief. If he gets 4-5 more cameos, that will be a good season for him.
Share the sentiment from everyone and it was one of the moments of the season BUT it's going to be so tiresome having certain members of this forum and on Twitter calling for him to play every week now...
The fans have been so starved of youth players to get behind, it’s no surprise. And don’t forget, the regime and their enablers have pushed the narrative for years that these kids aren’t good enough as they churn through the system.
Well some were calling for us to get Forde back after his hat trick for York. As always fans are fickle on these things.
Whether Bilic thinks Adeyemo or Grieves have much to offer when everyone is fit, I think he'd be wise to include at least one of them for every home game. There was a noticeable buzz around Adeyemo coming on, and it definitely lifted the team when we needed it the most
I got the impression from Bilic's post match comments that he may see a role for him haring around closing down the oppo back line for the last 20 minutes if we are winning. If he can force a couple of panicked turnovers per game we'd have to hope such as Sarr & JP will be able to capitalise.
Yes it might be that he brings Ade on if we are winning, and Bayo on if we are likely to be camped in the opposition half chasing a goal.
He's a huge lad isn't he? Reminds me of an athletic, toned and attractive version of Grossberger or whatever he was called in 'Stir Crazy'!
Who'd have thought the fans would connect more with two young lads who have chosen Watford and have a personal connection with the club, rather than some foreign players on loan from a 3rd party who probably don't exactly know where Watford is, despite playing there every 2 weeks.
Tobi has shown he has the mentality ss well as the build to earn a chance, even if he's not as good as A-P technically.
The only time we ll ever hear his name again will be as a particularly tricky question at a WFC themed quiz night in 15 years time .
It’s funny that when @NathWFC told a similar joke, he was called out for it. Interesting double standard from some.
I called him out. Apologies I hadn’t been reading this thread 24 hours a day in case somebody else posts a joke. My bad
Honest question (but I know the real answer, be warned) Would you have called out BRLR’s joke in the same way you did Nath’s?
Yep he was shyt today. Also I didn't like his shocked reaction to scoring last week. Shows that even he realises he's not good enough for this level. He will never make it.
Thought he looked good again when he come on and give their defenders much more of a hard time than Bayo did.
