At least he wasn't killed by a falling tortoise dropped by an Eagle.

    Alas poor Αισχύλος.
I always hoped the tortoise survived and that the eagle obtained a pair of spectacles.

Mind you as I stood at the National for the nine hours of the Οrestia I did think the eagle had the right idea!

No thanks. I thought his performance yesterday was as floppy as his hair. Andrews was the pick of the youth teamers, but only Kone could go straight into the league team.

Hard to take much from a 45 min performance, but I'm slightly surprised we've not seen Andrews before. He's physically much better than what we've currently got, and didn't look under pressure at any point.

Also didn't realise he's Wayne Andrews' son

    No he didn't.

If a defender makes a poor back-pass which gets intercepted by the striker, but then the striker either slips or is tripped up just before he's about to tap the ball in to the goal, it doesn't mean the defender has "done" the striker.

Contrary to Burnsy's original post - we did play with 3 forwards and Blake did play as one of the wingers.

Bad call. Maybe Okoye would have been better at scoring goals than stopping them.

This thread has been quite an enjoyable read!

I dont think i have learnt anything new watching yesterdays game, our academy players are ****. Anyone with half decent potential is almost certainly going to be snapped up by a richer club who will offer silly amounts of money that the players family most likely won't turn down. I dont blame them, contracts worth millions offered to your child, how many parents would say no to that?, but i wonder how many of these players who dont make it, and there is plenty of them, regret taking the easy money route? Probley a lot fewer then i think, who knows!

Yep. If they're gonna end up playing semi pro with a part time job at the age of 24, I'm sure a 1m mortgage free house, paid for with their first, ridiculous contract is more comfort than a handful of league Cup performances for Watford.

I have no idea who Uncle Ron is.

Oddly enough, Burnsy even accused Smudger of being Uncle Ron on the Shoutbox yesterday, and Smudger couldn't be much more different of a poster than me, so it's very confusing.

You could be right on his saves for Watford.
His shot stopping was a major plus at Sparta. The rest of his play was not so good.

    I had an Uncle Ron.
He was a civil servant and very lovely but quite dull.
My brothers used to do an impression of him in a monotone voice " put me in a brown envelope please".

This Uncle Ron is nothing like mine!

If any of you tune in to the DNSYE podcast, they actually speak to Uncle Ron a lot. From what I understand, he lives in Florida right now, and when he does the phone-in he is very, very vocal (in a good way) on what our current issues are. Unlike a lot of other fans', he doesn't seem to care what people think about his view. Sure, he can be a little OTT at times, but he speaks from the heart and seems to know the club on a more personal basis. I do not always agree with his views when he takes part, but I am glad he doesn't hide anything.

I don’t agree with all of Uncle Ron’s views, but I’m glad we have fans like him willing to dedicate time to shine a light on Pozzo, often at the cost of personal attacks upon himself. He is a vital balance to the likes of the FTRE sycophants,

It’s a shame the Sunday service is no more.

    I had an Uncle Ross.

It was the anglicised version of Omeros (or Homer). He was not blind. He was an electrician.

I fricking love the guy. He's well spoken, passionate and honest and he has the guts to stick to his guns whilst getting pelters from people.

I'm a very rare twitter user. I fact I found the other day that i had become extremely popular with women who share naked photos of themselves, simply because I used some sexual swear words in my tweets. Let me assure you, that woman will not dm you her nudes if you like her titty pics. I've tried 10000 times.

Ahh, good old Homer and his epithets "Flashing eyed Athena", " shouty Menelaus" " Dawn, the rosey fingered " , " God like Odysseus ".

Just as well Uncle Ross wasn't blind, slightly limiting for a spark?
"Get that bus out Butler" as many of us cried at Steve!

Well we are saved being hammered by Man U.

Just probably be beaten by Middlesbrough instead.

That was the only reason I watched the draw to see in ' Sale of the Century ' fashion what I might have won.

That's not correct for the FA Cup draw. Reading v Watford was tie number 31 so the winners were ball number 31 in the 4th round draw.

First out of the hat in the third round was Preston v Huddersfield. Preston won, so kept ball number one today and if you look at the third round draw in the order it was drawn and the fourth round ball numbers you'll see they all carried over.
