Signed on a free until the end of the season according to Andrew French. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...lic-brings-midfield-free-agent-vicarage-road/
Some glowing reviews in here: https://twitter.com/CityBluebirds_/status/1535246619641257984?s=20&t=69U9FKsGxT3F19WUSYQDOg
Someone did call him a "baller", but that may have been autocorrected. The majority called him a "hit". The 'S' is silent in Welsh.
Lol. Admittedly the injury situation in midfield is a joke but dipping into the free agent market to pick up absolute sh!te for three seasons running is top work from Pozzo. He's a football guy remember...
Great signing. Just what we need. 44 caps for Curacao shouldn’t be sniffed at and is way more than anyone criticising this signing have ever got. Good first signing for the new crack scouting team from Germany.
Not played for a while then suddenly expected to come in and probably play a number of a games in quick succession- prime injury risk .
Carlos Sanchez not available? Honestly we must have one central midfielder knocking about in the academy that can cover until the new year. Bacuna is absolutely ***** and offers nothing more than experience
If we play him tight in a midfield three with Louza and Kayembe flanking him, will he be a Bacuna sandwich?
Awful player but versatile and can play in positions in which we're very light on numbers and probably better than any other alternatives for a free/short term deal. Realistically (hopefully) only need him for 4/5 games. Now destined to get a straight red card on his debut meaning he misses most of those.
I mean….really…. what is the point ??? Might as well sign me. I’m also versatile and utterly cr4p and much cheaper.
Good to see the panic button has been pushed early. Agree with @wfc4ever prime injury candidate. Will we ever learn.
Hopefully he's mostly for the bench for 10 minute cameos in place of tired starters for a few games. In which case, fine.
Have we got no youth or development players that are better than a semi-retired Bacuna. The club is certainly in a bad way if we have no young midfielders with potential?
Whiff of emergency panic signing because our summer recruitment was not adequate. Anyone could see we would be a little light in midfield.
Unlikely to be fit enough to play immediately, especially for a full 90 minutes. Feels like a very desperate signing that is probably not going to do anything to fix our current problems.
Agree about 90 mins but from what French is saying this guy has been training with the squad for 'a few weeks' so presumably they think he's not far short of competitive fitness?
This feels like the other midfielder we thought we'd get in January. I don't see us going through the second half of the season with more than seven central midfielders for essentially two spots. I reckon we'll stick with Louza, Cleverley, Kone, Choudhury, TDB, Kayembe and Bacuna. Depth but still a lack of quality.
Is there any point in us having an academy anymore? Other clubs take a punt on their youngsters when they have injuries and unearth hidden gems, not us.
Backed ourselves into a corner whereby we had to sign whoever we could. He’s crap, but our kids are even worse and we have to get bodies for the next 4/5 games before Kone joins and injuries subside.
