Back to back wins? Unheard of! MATRON!

After a battling win over Wigan on Saturday, the horns' travel to Wales to face Cardiff City on a cold Wednesday evening. Our record against them is pretty good to date and I do not think many will forget our last second win over them last time we made the journey. Masina's left foot with a floating freekick which was fumbled in by their keeper, this after Chalobah had scored a brilliant goal to level the scores.

Having lost their derby to Swansea 2-0 the same day we battered our rivals, Cardiff bounced back with a win last time out and will be looking at this game as certainly winnable. One of the strongest connections to Cardiff we have of late is probably ex-player and manager Malky Mackay, who had a successful spell at both clubs and was a pretty decent hornet to boot. Cardiff used to play their home games in a red kit (if you remember that) due to a choice from their then new owners. However, being called the "blue birds" it didn't really make sense.

Away at Cardiff is generally a noisy atmosphere. We all remember our 5-1 rout in the PL and we have had some very entertaining games with Cardiff over the years. A 4-1 win a the Vic and a brilliant 4-2 win away when we came back from two goals down ( I think, memory a bit hazy on that one). I expect them to come at us and try to unsettle us from the off which they are good at doing in most games.

For us, it's a case of same again please. Win this one and we will certainly be right back in the mixer. It's going to be a very tough match and considering how we seemed to be pretty lacklusture at Wigan for most of the game while hardly creating much, we are going to need to be on point on Wednesday. There is hope Davis may return, unsure about Cathcart and the others, but "the guy from Chilie" was good at Wigan despite missing a fair few headers. Cardiff have players who can hurt us, and we cannot make these slack decisions at the back like we did at Wigan. I am confident we can go there and grab a win, but equally they can turn us over if we do not turn up.

Bilic does seem to be building some steele into this side now, and lets hope the last two victories were not a flash in pan.

Prediction: Cardiff City 1 Watford 1

Hamza is a big miss, hoping Gosling moves to the middle and Gaspar at right back. A good chance here to build momentum.

I’ve been trying to follow the craze from the Wigan match thread but all attempts to cook my dinner last night with a hair dryer failed :(

Wasn't Catherine Zeta Jones from Swansea?

Yeah, I think we'll draw this one.

Kalu will get sent off for failing to fall over when kicked, having his shirt pulled, and being shoved sideways. The ref will suspect that Kalu is trying to con him by not playing in the spirit of professional football. That sort of insolent behaviour is not to be tolerated, particularly when exhibited by someone of Kalu's age.

Kalu also doesn't own the right kitchen appliances.

It’s a shame this is midweek as Cardiff is absolutely fantastic.

Last time I was there we won 4-2 with Guedioura scoring a goal that was faster than the speed of light.

I would be content with the same score again.

Luton fan Keith Stroud is the ref on Wednesday.

    Got hurt on Strictly.

Get his dance partner into the midfield instead. Twinkling toes are always useful.

Cardiff is one of my favourite cities. Some bloody good drinking going on there.

For those going that like an ale, visit the City Arms just up from the Principality Stadium.

    1-1

Great place for beers - I fell asleep watching "Power Cricket" at the Millennium Stadium in 2002.

We cannot afford to be complacent off the back of two wins.

I think we need to approach this fixture Caerphilly.

TWO early goals? That’s a big Usk. I Brecon I’d be happy with one. I am though looking forward to a Welshpool of tears and not being Snowdon.

Cathcart and Davis not fit. Bayo and Kalu doubts.

    Guess we have to go:

    Bachmann
    Gaspar
    Troost-Ekong
    Sierralta
    Kamara
    Gosling
    Kayembe
    Sema
    Asprilla
    Sarr
    Pedro

Blimey. A midfield of Gosling, Kayembe and Asprilla.

I’m beginning to think that these injuries are not so much because we have not prepared physically well enough, or bad luck etc.

I’m wondering if we just have players who aren’t prepared to put themselves on the line and the club are a soft touch in allowing them to sit out.

With injuries and suspensions decimating our front line and midfield anything but a heavy loss would be a MASSIVE result.

Cardiff will simply outgun our ravished squad. If you think a front line of Sarr, Joao Pedro and Asprilla is good enough for this league you are a fool of the highest calibre.

    Prediction

    Cardiff 0-3 Watford
    Sarr (23), Joao Pedro (61), Asprilla (90+1)
