I'm happy with this purely because he has an excellent barnet. Seriously though, if he adds some steel to our flimsy central midfield then all the better.
Quite surprised Leicester have given us the option to buy. Definitely young enough to kick-start his career and also won’t take long for fans to take to him if he brings his tough tackling with him. Best we could do really when the criteria is as specific as we could operate in - young, ball-winner, HG… Although I suspect this lends another bit of credence to the rumours about TDB. But I still doubt he will replace Cleverley - the armband is a factor so I would think he will replace Kayembe, who in turn will take Asprilla’s place on the bench and see Bayo return to the bench. Or outside chance he takes Dennis place and Edwards goes back to his preferred shape.
Presume they can't get the one they want yet and don't want to drop down to choice #2, #3, #4 on the list then find out they could have got #1 with a little more patience. It is a risk of course....
So how long before he's sent off? Will he be the footballing equivalent of what Ken Bruce called "the ten minute murder" or "the twenty minute murder" in Midsomer Murders?
Hi guys, Leicester fan in peace, also a regular watcher of Watford as the mother is a supporter. Jumped on here after Ranieri got sacked, thought I’d log back in as you’ve just signed Hamza. After watching you the other night, I’m not surprised to see you bring another midfielder in. It was clear as day that you needed a combative midfielder, someone who can get around the pitch and give you some energy. I feel he gets harshly criticised by some Leicester fans, he’s had some great performances for us in the Premier League, more often than not against high quality opposition, he absolutely bossed it against Arsenal a few seasons back. From a consistency level I wouldn’t class him as Premier League quality, a move to the Championship with a club like Watford is a sensible move. He’ll give you much needed energy in the midfield, he can sometimes be a headless chicken and rack up on yellow cards, but when he goes flying into tackles that he actually wins, then he should get the Watford fans on side. If he does well, he is out of contract in 2023 so signing him permanently should be pretty straightforward
He does have lots of energy and seems like a really positive and well liked lad. I know you feel like you’ve had issues with player motivation and attitude so I think signing Hamza is a step in the right direction. It’s a really good move for him, his patience at Leicester has perhaps been detrimental to his development. A top championship side is the best he could have realistically hoped for.
Can I see some stats, charts, graphs, player comparisons etc please. Filbert isn’t filling me with confidence, but he’s a HG youngish player I’ve heard of so I’m happy so far!
A bit misleading to announce an option for a permanent deal when he is out of contract next summer anyway, unless it means they've agreed something with the player already.
I think you exercised your 2yr option before we signed him - so there’ll be a fee or he’ll be back with you.
Happy with this. Good age, decent experience and enough about him to suggest that with consistent football, there’s scope for further development. Should walk straight into the starting line up.
Breaking: Louza sold for 2m to Lens. Acquisition of Choudhury meant there was no space in the squad for a rotation player. Choudhury to play next to first team stars Cleverley and Kayembe.
Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal · 4m Update: Re Choudhury - #LCFC exercised two year option before season’s loan to #WatfordFC agreed, therefore midfielder is contracted at KP until 2024 hence option to buy.
