Agreed. He is a good player who I've known for a long time with Villarreal. But, as RE said in his conference, he's not a speed merchant. This is why I'm surprised he's come in as a RWB. RE heavily relies on pace and a willingness to run for the entire match. It's physically the hardest position to play in football. He's obviously very fit, but I'm surprised RE wants him for this role. Lots of other attributes, like technical ability, reading of the game, experience and leadership. All things we will greatly benefit from. So, we'll see how he's used in the coming matches, but I would expect him to revert to RCB or be used sparingly at RWB in rotation with another player.
'He can do a lot of jobs on the right side of the pitch, and he brings a lot of different things, different to what we already have in the squad.' Hopefully this includes RCB.
Mario Gaspar joins a few weeks after we signed Luigi Gaspar for the academy. I look forward to welcoming Yoshi Gaspar in the next few weeks.
Joke was done already by Stuey on the 3rd page: https://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/mario-gaspar.59519/page-3#post-3153012
Did he say anything else of note? I’d imagine that Norton-Cuffey at Arsenal and maybe Cody Drameh or Dujon Sterling could be looked at too. A supposed Newcastle ITK on Twitter has also linked us with Ritchie.
Yes. I think that was a @YellowKicks special. Not sure he’s quite of the same calibre and would be coming in more clearly as the backup option.
Apologies. I meant @DrewH. Got you confused as you both post very occasional snippets and have similar pictures.
We are getting rather close to resembling the great Radio One double act of the 1990s with our attempts to sign a right wing-back on loan... Marc and La(i)rd Lol
Lovely interview he gave to the official website. Looks like we might actually have carried out some due diligence for once!
In Edwards' interview today he spoke about Gaspar as an option at RWB and didn't say anything at all about him possibly playing RCB. He talked about knowing Gaspar isn't a flying machine but that he can offer something different. Considering he's also spoken about wanting 2 players for each position, then us also looking at signing another HG rwb, who might be a bit more energetic perhaps, makes sense (and making Ngakia surplus to requirements).
If as hinted, Gaspar isn’t quite ready to start on Monday and with Bachmann getting the nod in goal and with Sarr and Dennis happily available, it means none of our 5 new signings so far are likely to start lol
Completely false equivalence. Have you watched video clips of me doing my job and then made a comment about my on the job performance?
As Malteser said comes across as a model professional. He wasn't going to get past Foyth so here he is. Integrates quickly and should be a good mentor for others around him and a leader. Shades of Cassetti about him.
Geez, do I really need to spell it out for you? Making indirect comments about the job performance of someone who works in the public eye (plus whose wages you've also in some small part contributed towards), is not the same as playing armchair psychologist and making direct personal comments to someone who you've never met and is theoretically relatively anonymous behind a keyboard. As far I'm aware I've never met you, LeedsOrn, Smudger etc. and it'd be pretty messed up if you've somehow watched any clips of me - whether that be in my day-to-day life or while working. Also, what forum is that then?!
https://twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1555274942727471105?t=iuOLEfHQaNYfeiuyh8EUwQ&s=08 Is it just me or is Mario's right leg twice the size of his left?
This is a lie and I instantly regret lying to the forum, especially since we're all being nice to each other now.
