I think you are somewhat overstating the ability of our midfield there. Louza is the only one who would look out of place in a side towards the bottom half of the division. I think after we bring in a 1/2 strikers, central midfield has to be our priority. Cleverley and Gosling were both weak links in our promotion midfield, and looked past it even 2 years ago. They can play a role, but if they are expected to be important players we are not going to be fielding a competitive side. TDB has one season where he was far from a standout player in a side that battled relegation. Quina had half a season of the same. Kayembe may benefit from the drop in quality, but the reality is that he is still absolutely *****.
We do need to upgrade the midfield, I implied that already, but I just don't think the club will see this as a priority for this window. We have Cleverley, Gosling, TDB, Kayembe and Louza. They are our central core. Then we have Manning, Aprilla and Quina. Unless we ship a few out (and I don't see any signs of that happening) we are unlikely to add to the group....IMO.
I accept we are probably stuck with Kayembe, Cleverley and Gosling (more outstanding work by the Board) but I dont see any reason we couldnt find loan / permanent moves for TDB and Quina. Neither did enough during their loan spells last year to really merit starting roles in a side that will (hopefully) be near the top of the table. Wouldnt be shocked to see Asprilla and Manning spend time with the U23s, and in any event, are unlikely to be heavily relied upon. I'd be surprised if a proper midfielder doesnt come in but I appreciate it may be later in the window.
Do **** off mate. We have a squad not a ******* roster. If you want to talk like that go support Columbus Crew or Real Salt Lake ok "buddy".
I have Spanish and Canadian roots, so let me know which one I should **** off back to, ok Little Britain?
Doesn't look like he's training with us unless they've done spectacularly well to cut him out of the pre-season video they've put on YouTube.
Don't worry about taking the day off, the announcement is going to be later. He needs to be unveiled as RSC Charleroi's new signing first. That will be done this morning and this afternoon it's Watford's turn to unveil their new signing.
You don't even have to wait until August to boo him thanks to the world cup pushing the start of the season into this month!
He's another Mogi punt straight off the Kayembe dross-wagon. He probably won't even get in first 10 match day squads.
I hope he's announced as some form of caricature on a tapestry. Anything else and I cannot support him.
Well that's a fair point but I'd argue any self-respecting fan wouldn't be waiting for the actual game to start booing.
As the saying goes, if a Watford fan starts booing but no players are there to hear them, they're still doing a vital service to their club.
Well he is signed, seems a nice confident chap in the interview, welcome to the club and good luck but **** the stench of Bayat on this deal.
It's a little unnerving that the club club had glossed over is time at Celtic. He was a total flop there. It does sound like another agent forced transfer. I hope he does well, but the deal stinks.
