One year on his contract and his weekly wage supposedly around £60k. Basically getting a total £4-5mil. A small fee plus £3mil in wages off our books. For a player that doesn’t want to be here and offers nothing, I’m happy with it.

I thought reports said previously that he had a break clause so I’d assumed no fee- €2m and a high earner off the wage bill isn’t bad at all. Don’t think he cost that much more last summer.

Exactly, and cost us £2.5mil last summer.

Reports were quite clear that he did have a break clause. Can only presume a bit of Mogi magic has convinced him not to enforce it and has shuffled a bit more money our (and his) way whilst his other club Nantes get a player who they might still think is quite good.

I would say that’s acceptable. Don’t think we paid much more than that and he’s a year older with a break clause. Wages off the books, get it done.

I don't know whats funnier, the prospect of us wanting a buy back option on this donkey or the idea that our hierarchy genuinely think we could be back in the PL next season

So we wanted a buy back option included so we can potentially bring him back when he's 34? What the f*ck is wrong with us?

To be an undeserved devil's advocate, given this is a Mogle special, do we think a buyback clause has been inserted to make it more likely they can guarantee at least a certain fee next summer from another, fantasy, club if they want to sell him on? Pretend we will definitely be paying that and use that to force a little more blood out of the actual foolish stone?

On the same wages too ?

    Seems a bit pointless .

Need to look to the future - not back.

It's as if every brain involved in the decision making from owner, to Giaretta, to Duxbury is just mush. So many stupid decisions over such a large sample size. At least this one can't actually hurt us I suppose, unlike the rest of their activity.

The one thing I would say is it’s an option. It doesn’t mean we have to take it up. It’s probably on there as a last resort scenario.

I don’t think it’s worth us getting bent out of shape over it.

A buy back option on 78 year old Sissoko who’s atrocious is so funny. I know we’re mental, but we get even more mental by the day. I have to laugh otherwise I’ll cry

That is genuinely ******* hilarious. We genuinely have to be the biggest ******* head case club in football. Just completely mental and without any logic.

It’s item 128 on things to get wound up about I agree, but it’s just yet another demonstration of how illogically stupid this owner is, at least in terms of looking after our football club’s interest.

He'll be playing the Kucka role on his return.

And the Juraj is still out on whether that was a successful signing.

Getting his wages off of the book to accommodate Afobe, and the option to bring his premier league experience back upon promotion. Once again shrewd business by Gino & Co. We will discuss it this week on the podcast.

Logic seems pretty clear to me.

Mogi gets commission 3 times in 3 years.

No need to stress on the buy back option. We won’t be going up for quite some time so it’s not going to be an issue. It’s all good.

Excellent news. Hopefully when he's spent a year developing in Ligue 1 he can return and help drive us towards that elusive 'Best of the Rest' title. Then Gino will tie him down for the duration of his prime years.

    Everybody wins here.

Sissoko gets a year to rest his legs in a farm league, while HMSTL steams towards the title without his wages anchoring us down, before #CaptainFantastique returns and leads us once again to relegation glory.

Not to mention, Mogi gets another few quid is his pocket, which we’ll earn back tenfold on another Dennis /Lukebakio type purchase. Greasing the wheels. Everybody HAS to pay money to one agent, we’re just LUCKY Scott and Gino aligned with one of the good ones.

So the “facts” gleaned from posts on the 2 threads for this guy seem to conclude we bought him for £8m, sold him for a few bob, have to buy him back for £8m, and Mogi is due significant agents fees on all 3 deals, presumably bringing total cost including wages to close to £150m for this guy. FFS Gino.

Watford are to receive only £1m for the sale of Sissoko and there is NO buy back clause.

Sissoko to Nantes as Watford set for Richarlison windfall | Watford Observer

In other news, as most of us thought in the first place, it's 10% of profit Watford will receive on the Richarlison sale.......and there maybe another sneaky bit of profit in that Estupinan is attracting interest from Spurs. Watford would receive 25% sell on over and above £16m.
