    On paper it seems like the most obvious signing of all time.

    But we have Duxberry and Pozzo in charge, so he'll end up somewhere else whilst we sign some 33 year old San Marino ex-international on a 4 year deal.

    But reading it, besides the clickbait headline (which appears different in the link screenshot above for some reason) “this story” seems to just be ‘if Watford are interested in any FGR players, it’d probably be him’. Not quite the same as actually being in for him.

    We may yet sign Kane Wilson, but in fairness, Udinese really do have a cracking set of young wing-backs, if we don't recruit well there this season we might as well fold

    Four years ago we signed a player from Barcelona with a reasonable amount of first team experience and no one batted an eyelid.

    Now we are crossing our fingers about landing a player from Forest Green.

    One season ago we signed managers who’d won the PL and managed their country in a World Cup and two Euros.

    Now we are getting excited about landing a manager from Forest Green.

    You really think Kayembe is that bad? Not good value for money, sure, but he seemed one of Eupen’s better players and their season disintegrated without him.

    I'm not entirely sure what those two specific deals have to do with this one.

    Considering we now have this player's former manager at the helm he'd have known the level of his ability more so than anyone.

    But the fact is that Wilson has just joined the club who only finished 17th in the Champ last season. If he really is 5hit-hot then one would have expected not just ourselves but other of the more ambitious Championship clubs, or even newly promoted clubs, to have snapped him up instead.

    I've said before that on paper it would seem to be a fairly obvious signing for us to consider but that it's also a big step up from League Two to the Championship; so maybe we, including Edwards, didn't think he'll be quite up to it for whatever reason? I think it's fair enough to speculate about that given that we do also make a fair few free signings as well.

    We'll find out soon anyway how good he is or isn't next season.
