What a sham of a season made more embarrassing that the team worse than us beat us to the title last year
A bit of fight but too little too late. Hated this season, went down with a whimper and people see it as a jolly. No pride on or off the pitch. Good riddance to bad filth in Roy.
I'm not a fan of Roy but I felt very uncomfortable with the abuse the old boy received today. Can't imagine GT would have approved.
Only 5 pages of comments tells the tale and is all that needs to be said….. Everyone is done with this season and unless lessons are actually learned this time I can see us back to 14k attendances as we finish 14th in the championship
Weirdly, I'm a bit relieved, you can't help but "support" the club right? It's innate in all of us so even when you strongly dislike most aspects of the club, defeats still hurt and knowing there was no present solution in the team, hurt even more. Yet now it's over and we know Hodgson's gone, Foster's gone, Sissoko, Dennis, Sarr are all gone. Edwards in, a young, supposedly refreshing, British head coach, there feels like a tiny bit of light at the end of the tunnel that might be deserving of a little bit of support. I don't have total confidence in Pozzo & Co to get it right but at least today should mark the end of some of the toxicity that has been lingering around for far too long and maybe, just maybe come July 30th we'll have a team to be proud of that we can all get behind again. In the meantime, let's see what this bonkers summer has for us.
Yes I think the mass clearout people talk about won't be as major as hoped. I think gosling and cleverly will more than likely stay on, and can do a job.? Out of contract... Gone Dennis... Gone Sarr.... Gone "hands up who wants to leave".. Gone I'd like to put the phone down now and look again in August to see what's happened...
I actually forgot we were even playing today until about 4:10. Thought we were in for a hammering when we went 1-0 down early on. I actually watched Man City which was probably the first time I have ever actively watched another team whilst Watford were playing.
They'll be good next year with Deulofeu on one side and Sarr on the other. Wonder where they found those players from?
Best thing about this match is that Hodgson is gone after it. Result was ok, but our defence was cr*p as per usual. Oh and King is horrific, Sema(who was also quite bad) offered more today. I hope we sell him asap.
I’m excited for them to not pay us what they owe for him this summer as the interest on the bank loan increases.
There was certainly more team support than Roy bashing. there was barley a break in the singing in the first half.
Good to see Gosling has doubled his transfer value with that goal. Fingers crossed we can get a hundred pounds for him this summer.
Depends how you define team support i guess. We're the left side, we're the right side How **** must you be, it's only 1-0 We've got the ball... etc Suppose there were some chants aimed at the subs and Watford til I die and they'd be chalked up in the team support column. Either way you're right. There really wasn't enough of calling Woy a ****. You're right to call for more of that. I'd say the moment has passed now though.
Would GT have approved of Hodgson's obvious lack of interest in doing his job? What about disrespecting the fans?
I turned 3CR on at the start, while watching the Sky games on mute. Then I realised I couldn't care less what happened at Chelsea and focused on Abu Dhabi blowing it and media darlings Leeds getting their comeuppance. A disappointing afternoon. But when will players learn that taking their shirts off risks a second yellow?
It appears we've only got Foster out of contract, with Sissoko and King supposedly having break clauses in their deals, and if there were no takers for all of those players who were relegated 2 years ago, I highly doubt there'll be interest now. Only player outside of the club's big assets who has even been rumoured to be leaving is Kiko, and to be quite honest, for all his faults, I think I'd rather keep Kiko for next season than Cleverley, Cathcart and Kabasele
You misunderstand me. I’m not promoting the idea of Bachmann over Foster. I’m saying they are both awful. But the idea that Foster has been good is wild IMO. A couple of decent saves sure, but he’s generally been turd - and the metrics back that up.
Look at this defending for their second!!!! Two players trying to stop the cross (one on his ass) six! Yes six Watford players in the box for the cross and yet somehow all three Chelsea players are unmarked. We are a joke
I didnt watch it, I watched the Liverpool game, far more entertaining and I didnt care what happened either. I dont see them beating Madrid next weekend.
King has spent all season impersonating a footballer. He is utter crap. I can only think he'll move abroad as no premier league club would be stupid enough to sign him.
Samir and Kabasele's defending for their first goal would have been terrible even in the Championship. Will we ever manage to sign a decent CB?!
