Apologies for starting another thread on this guy - but it’s pretty important to club matters going forward so I think it’s right there’s a thread where he can be discussed.

But what I will say is - I’m not a mod/admin obviously - can we keep any discussion free of blatant accusations that aren’t in the public realm and be careful with language, and/or implying guilt. Pretty clear by now, that will get the thread deleted again. Being concerned about his involvement because of the known case against him in Belgium is surely okay and worthy of discussion.

As @domthehornet has said, we aren’t being censored and we can discuss it. But let’s all, including me, be very careful with the language used.

As an aside how slow are the Belgians at bringing things to trial? Is this normal or just isolated because it is a wide ranging investigation. I for one am outraged that Brother Bayat has these outrageous allegations hanging over him and is delayed from clearing his name.

Fair point @Burnsy and well made. Keep the tone of the thread respectable there will be no need to take action against it. Nobody is saying you cannot discuss Mogi B - I myself do not like him. Let's keep it civil and have an adult discussion without bringing legalities into it. :)

Unrelated to any of the legal or ethical aspects of this guy, I do find it quite funny that we're so tinpot that our equivalent of Wolves' Portuguese super agent is some **** who peddles us tat from the Belgian and French leagues.

They got Neves and Jota. We got Kayembe, Kums and Oulare. Lol.

A quick Google tells me he's playing for Gent in Belgium after a spell at Anderlecht.

It also tells me he was born in a town called "Asse" in Belgium.

So the Belgian League was obviously his level! No shame in that, its higher than the Britainnia Taunton West Somerset District Division 2 Level that I find myself playing in.

I'm assuming that English Premier League standard Belgian players aren't on Bayat's books.

Didn't he drown a kitten in the bath and post it on YouTube? Then then people got outraged and hunted him down but it turned out he also murdered a gay person he lured into his apartment. Then they caught him and made a netflix documentary.

Sure that was him. Or I may have got my wires crossed?

The biggest question here is why would Gino put his reputation and the clubs reputation inline with somebody who is being investigated with money laundering and fraud offences? Bayat has also been arrested on suspicion of match fixing in 2018.

The quality of the players he has provided has been mostly crap also so why keep using him?

What happened to the days when we were all excited when we signed H Helgusson the Icelandic Powerhouse and trotted him out for a debut and goal against Liverpool? How times change.

What is Mogi to the Pozzo's and Watford. It's almost like he's acting as the owners representative or perhaps the clubs representative without actually holding a formal position within any club structure. Almost like the head of personnel for the Pozzo’s rather than a players agent.

He seems to be involved in a disproportionate number of our transfers but so many of our transfers seem pointless, poor in ability, a poor attitude and so very weak mentally. We have a very high failure rate on transfers into the first team squad, something we can’t afford and something we are supposed to be avoiding because of what we have been informed is a “world class scouting network” which brings us back to Mogi, why does Mogi do so much business with the Pozzo family. Why’s is Mogi involved in so many of our transfer dealings especially when he has such a poor record in providing Watford with players. Just what is in it for Watford that we allow him to keep providing us with players, not Gino, not Mogi, not the players but how do Watford benefit.

This of course leads on to a separate issue, the elephant in the room, the one issue that cries out “what are you thinking” at the club. Mogi’s legal issues in Belgium. Now I believe you are innocent until proved guilty but these accusations of money laundering and fraud are frankly worrying. For the club to continue to have such a close relationship with Mogi while this is going on shows poor judgement by the owners, there seems to be no attempt to distance themselves from him or remove him from the process while this plays out. With the accusations hanging over him it is worrying that Mogi is so entwined within the system we operate in. Is there a clear barrier between what he does and Watford FC. Could the club really distance themselves from Mogi if an investigation moved on from him and started looking at us. If he is innocent then fair enough but if he is proved guilty……

He was also part of the Kamara deal. This guy's fingerprints are all over the club and we're going to get caught up in something at some point.

If this does unravel at a rate of knots during 2023 (which I reckon is about 50/50) I hope our subservient sanctimonious foolish fans will own it, accept their facilitation role and not try to re-write history.

Player trafficking namely of kids from South America less so and Africa more so has been raised in the past. Many dubious people are involved all with the intent of making money for themselves in the hope that one of the promising kids turns out to be the golden egg. They don't really care about the kids and if they don't live up to expectation they are discarded like rubbish.

FIFA needs to do far more to tackle these people along with police forces worldwide. Ditto for other areas where young kids are involved and very shady individuals are involved as in the trafficking of young models from eastern Europe.

And if it turns out he's just a bit of an (allegedly) shifty-looking bloke who brought in a mix of (allegedly) sh1te and (allegedly) good players, without breaking any (alleged) laws?

I was considering the Bayat court issue as one component. The debt isn’t going anywhere. If Bayat is found without blame on this investigation then that would be a relief, but not sure it solves the wider problem of Pozzo general financial mismanagement and Bayat’s disproportionate influence over our owner for his own ends, even if perfectly legitimate.

This has been my take from the start. The allegations against are of course disheartening but somewhat beside the point. Even if he was the cleanest agent in the world with the fewest legal controversies (he isn’t) and he had access to the best pool of players (he doesn’t), we shouldn’t be outsourcing all our recruitment to one agent because of the inherent conflict of interest there.

I don't understand why the Board feels they get value from Bayat. They clearly do feel this or they wouldn't use the guy almost exclusively. There must be something we can't see from outside the club. Maybe he is effectively in charge of the whole conveyor belt of "talent" from Africa/America, finding, fixing up first clubs, managing development to next clubs, all with a view to a promising 20/21 year old on our books ? But it's not really working out that way is it ? Plus as the above posts suggest, there seems to be restricted choice for his players over which route they take, they can't legally be forced to join Udinese or Watford. I don't think Gino & Scott are idiots, but I don't get why they see this relationship as working or worth the money atm.

Being closely linked with someone who attracts this amount of legal attention is also a serious concern.

"Financial mismanagement" ? Well they have certainly mortgaged the club to the hilt to try to stay in the prem and yet failed by some distance. I wonder what their future strategy will be if we were to gain promotion next season. Or indeed if we fail to....

Most of our fans dont have a clue about Bayat and the allegations hanging over his head. Remember, this is about the only place where people go deep into the finer details of what is happening at the club.
