Palace had a bit of an off day but didn’t need to win by more because we offered absolutely nothing to threaten their goal. It was a really meaningless end of season game. If we had still been really fighting to stay up we would all have been raging about the awarding of that penalty, but we all know it didn’t matter one bit.
I hope all goes well. If it's a boy, you could name him after a current Watford player. Then again, calling him 'You're Sh*t' would be very unfair to him. Advanced congratulations to you both.
And certainly don’t get caught smiling with the players. Just think of the reaction if a Gerrard did that at Liverpool after Villa had got relegated or Lampard at Chelsea . They would be totally lynched!
I agree but also remember it was "little us" that went down. If you asked somebody "Do you know who went down yesterday from the PL?" They would say "Who?" Then you answer back "Watford", the basic reply would be "Er? Oh, them, yeah cool". Like somebody mentioned above, the only people who care we went down are the fans. Players don't care, owners don't care. Fans and community of Watford do care.
I'd like to ask him are the players really fit enough compared to other sides in the PL. The number of late goals, the inability to maintain a press. Is it down to the training regimen or lack of it or the sheer age and decrepitude of some of the signings ? Or perhaps more of our players need to become asthmatics.
Hodgson is (rightly) getting absolute pelters on social media following his pathetic display yesterday, and I'm almost upset that I handed my ST back to the club as I'll miss him getting his just desserts on Wednesday. However, lets not forget the rancid playing staff who have stunk the joint out all season. I hope they get the same abuse.
Foster does have a point I concede that although he is somewhat a hypocrite. I’d like to hear the neutrals tell us all what they’re really thinking. Garth did a bit in final score yesterday basically saying he was pleased we went down.
They will be clapped off at FT after a 4-1 thrashing as Everton pull clear of bottom three. Might get the odd half heart booing.
I'd love to give Hodgson some stick but I can't be arsed to go on Wednesday. Why should I rush home from work and get myself to the ground to watch this bunch of losers again? They don't deserve support from any of us. I hope Pozzo, Duxbury, the players and Hodgson see plenty of empty seats and feel embarrassed. But they won't.
It was me! Just kidding. My homes seats have been empty for weeks and I wouldn't go to an away game for a free corporate box and a grand spending money.
I met Bassett just after he joined. He was a nice enough guy, but the wrong guy at the wrong time for us. He failed miserably but he didn't **** us over deliberately like this ballsac faced **** has
Given Pozzo and Duxbury were absent yesterday it maybe that they don’t turn up either fearing a toxic atmosphere will “ distract the team from giving the long suffering supporters some home form cheer”
Agreed…how can the penalty be, effectively, given by VAR? I can understand the on-field ref giving it in ‘real time’, but the VAR not seeing the clear push on Kamara, which was the reason his arm was in the position it was? Incompetent.
Maybe it was me but I thought Lineker and Shearer were somewhat struggling to not laugh when talking about our relegation
Trouble was he massively exaggerated the push. They were talking about it on the commentary while the VAR replays were ongoing and went from 'clear push, this will be overturned for sure' to 'that's a penalty'. It was no shock Atwell left the call as it was. If you watch, it's a small touch in Kamara's back and he essentially jumps like a loon to try and make the most of it and ends up flapping his arm up unnaturally.
Lineker is a tool, but Shearer seems pretty genuine. Quite simply, we're a joke and people laugh at jokes.
Honestly thought pen was going to be overturned but obviously it doesn't prolong Watford's misery any longer. Thought Roy was definitely out of order for not applauding the Watford fans, but although I honestly thought he'd keep you up bu it shows injuries to the squad & choice of manager replacementhas doomed you! No doubt you'll be back in the prem soon. Teams like ours shouldn't have glory hunters so carry on Supporting them thro thick & thin! Oh yeah as you hate us so much Thanks for the 6 points
Fair enough, but still a foul despite Kamara’s star jump. It’s not as if the Palace player was actually challenging for the ball in any meaningful way.
Foster is right - too many players suffered a dramatic loss of form, eg. Sarr, Dennis and Sissoko. They're probably all on the phone to their agents trying desperately to avoid the Championship. I say "good riddance".
If I'm completely honest I wasn't even sold on it being a foul. Looked more like the Palace player put a hand out to figure out where Kamara was/show he was there and our man tried to make the very most of it. The 'it's still a contact sport' defence applies in my book.
Exactly. If we didn't support Watford, we'd hate watford. In fact I do support Watford and I hate Watford. Were despicable.
Don't worry - that guy from The 1881 assured us he was packing his kid off to summer school so he can spend the time writing some new bangers.
Not defending our fans at all, but my God are most football songs across the board unoriginal these days, it's always old geezers at all clubs who have the best songs
