COGs will finally now find their voice and boo their pantomime villain for the next 3 games. The sacrificial lamb will be metaphorically slaughtered at the end of the season and they’ll fall back in line behind Poxbury who has held up their side of the bargain by ‘changing their approach’, hiring Tommy Mooney as manager and naming a concession stand after the bloke who use to collect the training cones in the 70s The show goes on
Cant compare seasons 15 years apart. That season Man Utd won the league comfortably and today are on course to miss out on European football, having got whacked 4-0 at Brighton. If we lose all our remaining games without scoring a goal, we will finish the season having won more games and scored more goals than the Boothroyd season. As we know Andy had one golden thread to his managerial career that coincided with part of his time at Watford. But at least it was fun! Remember the tussle with Fitz Hall and the penalty shootout practices. The day in Cardiff beating Leeds was one of the best. But like this season, I could not stand the first choice left back.
I mean, you can. United won the league with 89 points, Liverpool are currently top and can get 92 max. United won 28 out of 38, Liverpool top right now can't win more than 28 games with 25 wins and 3 games left. Arsenal finished 4th with 68 points, they're currently 4th with 63 points and 4 games left, they'll probably finish on around 69/70. Not much changes, this team has performed worse than Aidy's team. Fact.
Fell asleep on the train and missed my stop, luckily woke up for the next one. Still disgusted by what I witnessed today. Palace fans were incredibly quiet, pathetic atmosphere.
We left as soon as the penalty went in. My only regret is not getting up and leaving as soon as it was awarded. I can't be sure but I think I heard someone say 'support the team!' as we left. If it did happen and it was someone reading this, you're a fhucking idiot, mate.
maybe he had a premonition that Woy would walk round the pitch clapping the away fans and chat away to the Palarse players
I think Fosters correct with regards to the squad being on the same page; the lot of them don’t show up after the 1st minute, concede multiple goals & act like sloths to each & every game we play in. They’re extremely consistent in this too. Fair play to Hodgson, Gino & Scott for installing this type of togetherness over the last few months, and thank you Ben Foster for pointing it out too.
Well at least the fitness coach has come out and apologised. Have any of the players yet? I'm sure we'll get our statement from Pozzbury today telling us that things will change.
Spent yesterday continuing to get rooms & garden ready ahead of little Pozz in a few months and didn’t listen or watch a single moment from it, just a flat acceptance of it being over. Well done Pozzo & Duxburry you ****s, for me to feel pretty much nothing to that is a personal moment of how damning that must be. Somehow, Roy managed to out **** them on the day however. We all knew we were down since January bar a select few - But the apathy is just something else.
I got off as I was expecting it to be Zaha walking round the pitch smiling and mocking us at the end. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect it would be the WFC manager behaving like that. A truly stunning end to the season. Comfortably the most loathsome manager since Bassett, possibly ever. Even Bassett didn't celebrate our demise.
First and foremost, congratulations on your imminent new arrival. I am where you are too. I’m not sure when it happened but, at some point, my disappointment at the way the season was unfolding turned into apathy. I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt this detached from the club. When our relegation was confirmed yesterday, I didn’t feel the disappointment I have in the past - if anything, I was relieved. I can’t go to our last two home games of the season - and, again, instead of feeling disappointed, I feel relieved. Despite initially thinking I wouldn’t, I have renewed my ST so I guess, deep down, that irrational football fan’s hope that things will get better is still there somewhere but it’s hard to find right now.
Just bothered to have a look at the highlights. Penalty looked like a foul the other way. Second yellow by Kamara looked incredibly soft (not sure if he was on a final warning). Palace still should have won by more.
I have no idea but I think he's implying that he played well maybe? Or that he just likes football? Either way he's just completely ignoring the whole relegation aspect of the day.
Foster has accumulated more points by himself than the whole Watford squad in the last 24 (might be 28) games.
Just watched MOTD for the first time this season and probably for the last time ever in my life. Usual suspects seemly satisfied that the fly in the ointment Watford have been relegated. Sometimes I wish they’d just come out and say what they really think. Seemed to feel sorry for Roy being at Watford.
I stopped watching MotD a while ago. Big Six lovers the lot of them. Let's analyze that Watford game... "3 mins". Let's analyze the Liverpool game... "10 mins of debate and discussion over all the points". So predictable.
I don't believe a word of that. How are they sorry? They could see the mess we were in but did nothing to change it. They sat idle as we lost game after game with the same tired formation and lineups, making the same mistakes game in, game out. Could they of changed something? Yes, they did - we started to press team further up the pitch and we played some good stuff, scored goals and looked like a half decent side. Then that pressing game was thrown out the window (for reasons we will never know) and we resorted to type. I get they are sorry for the fans' that had to suffer through it all, but a statement from Gino himself explaining where he plans to go from here would be a better idea.
At least we’ve got evidence of the level of pride these players have. None pride. The worry is who is going to take the shisters off of our hands (no idea how many are out of contract now).
to be fair, the many mangers also got an honourable mention from Gary. Who we all know is the font of all knowledge and the guardian of all truth and righteousness.
It's common sense but as 'Hanky Panky' Anne Pankhurst said " common sense is not very common". Gormless twerp Roy. Sod off.
Congratulations PM! If the baby is male I suppose Roy and Ray will not be considered as names? Or Gino,Scott,Ben.... continued page 94.
Why for past two seasons have the players been unfit? Who is checking their fitness? Sack the whole of the backroom staff. They are clearly not doing their jobs. One season in the Championship and poor fitness is bad enough, but entering the Premier league unfit is unforgivable. Resign or sack? They have to leave the club.
