God, have we got a game in four days' time already? Well actually, along with Everton at home this is one of the only two remaining games that has a modicum of interest. I honestly can't remember an end to the season I've been so little enthused about, and that includes the 2006/07 season where at least back then it looked like we had a plan as Aidy was putting together a promotion-challenging squad for next season. Maybe 2001/02, but we went on a decent little run in February and March that gave us a very faint hope of the play-offs.

Liked for the very polite ‘blowing smoke up our bottoms’,
    and the erudite ‘Father Time’.
Nice write up Skyla, I think most couldn’t be arsed to make the effort, so Thankyou.

I’ve lost interest... whatever the score I will just shrug.
I’ve not felt so disinterested and disconnected with my football team since .... forever..

Waiting for the Pilgrims in the playoffs, the Open, Wimbledon, Putin being given a bloody nose and warmer weather.

Oh, and the excitement of the late summer preseason manager/coach/player merry go round, and a promotion winning campaign next season..

1-2 to the Clarets, but for now and til the end of the season, who cares...

The immovable blamanche vs the unstoppably abject.

We'll make Everton look like world beaters.

So the plan is to sing Vydra’s name for 90 minutes and hope we lose right?

Everton have lost seven league away games in a row, in fact they've picked up just 2 points in their last 14 away games, though funnily enough those points came at Man Utd and Chelsea. Nearly as bad as our atrocious runs on the road of 1 point in 16 games in 1999/00 and 1 point in 12 in 2017/18.

Our home form and their away form is uncannily similar at the moment...

We should win this as we’re seemingly about as bad as Real Madrid

This is the way to do it properly. Romero masterclass after Richarlison tried to wind up some Argentine players before and after last years Copa.

I've been too depressed with us to even post on here for weeks.

Time to mix it up; play the kids from the u23s and put Pedro in goal.

Maybe Foster up front. Camera in the other goal to capture his expression when he scores.

I can’t recall us ever beating Burnley at home in the PL? Matches usually seemed to be drawn.

A long time ago when I was much younger there was a young, very talented but wayward tennis player named Keith Tomlin.

He came from the **** end of Edmonton, not that I suppose Edmonton has a gentile area! Lived in a horrid high rise block and had no family support.

A kindly chap named Graham Cutts took him under his wing and paid for his coaching and indoor court time at Hazelwood.

Anyhow,Keith became a decent player, still Jack the Lad but good. However he used to sell his rating for cash in tournaments to lower rated opponents.

It's just a thought,as someone used to write.

Did Watford not defeat Burnley 2-1 at home in the 2016-17 season?

Jeff Hendrick, January 2017. And as for "cloggers", we've had two players sent off in 5 years since then.

Maybe but the proper "Watfordy" way will be lose against Burnley so we are properly down, and only then the players get all relaxed and happy and go on to hammer Everton when there's nothing hanging on it....

Beat me to it by 30 seconds there UEA. Some of you are famous, well done.

Some of their comments on their forum are right, I just have never got over them taking Silva and Richarlison. I often still lie awake at night in a cold sweat thinking about it. It has massively affected my life... :D

I’ve got the most wonderful, affectionate dog. A big slobbering mongrel, part boxer with gorgeous big brown eyes and floppy ears. My heart swells with joy and contentment when I see her playing with her stuffed toys and I laugh my head off at her inept attempt to catch birds in the garden. She sits and watches the snooker with me and tilts her head adorably when the balls scatter. She’s like a best friend really, part of the family and I am in no way prepared to contemplate life without her. She looks at me in a way that tells me she trusts me and loves me back.

That said, I’d kick her to death and dump her body on the M1 if it meant Everton being relegated. Hahahahahahahaha.

After many years of hardcore semi-lurking, this is the single funniest post I’ve ever lurked at. Literally laughing out loud in a quiet office with colleagues thinking I’m clinically insane.
Perhaps I am, although that would be inconceivable to me.

Actually thinking more about it I'd rather we lost every remaining match this season apart from beating Everton by enough to see them relegated on goal difference on the last day of the season.

I can imagine the TV highlights now, the closeups of crying Toffee fans in the crowd at the Emirates on the full time whistle.

I take it you’re firmly a dog person then? I see this opinion a lot from such people and for them it sums up why dogs make much better pets than cats. (I saw you say you don’t like cats, but I don’t know if you really meant that or you just blow hot and cold with them.)
