I would normally put a lot of effort into a preview for a game, images, videos and banter. Problem is, @GoingDown put all his heart and soul into the last one, and the team did exactly the opposite.

To counter that - I am putting the minimum effort into this preview, in the hope the players will do the opposite on Saturday. Will it happen? No.

    A few brief facts:

    Brentford

Ivan Toney certainly CAN do it as a PL player.
Brentford had a great start - continued the momentum throughout despite going through a bad run.
They are safe - I don't care what the mathematics say - the three teams in the bottom three won't change.
Their manager looks like a member of the Addams Family (but he gets results)
One of the better fan forums you can visit.
Well run, team work for each other.
Beaten West Ham, Arsenal and slapped Chelsea.
Won more home games than we have.

    Watford

    Given up.
No passion for the season more.
Cr*p themselves playing in front of their own fans.
Cannot score simple goals, concede silly ones.
Their star player cannot wait to get out of the club.
    Championship bound.
Dinosaur Manager who is their for some retirement bonus - no real desire to try anymore.
More interested in a closed-house "shhhh" forum idea than taking us forward.

    Prediction: Watford 0 Brentford 3

First home game in 30 years where I'm not going even though I'm about and have nothing else on.

I've had enough of the circus of a club and a team of spineless, no hopers assembled on the cheap.

Me, the wife and kids walked out after the third Leeds goal on Saturday and all agreed we'd had enough for this season.

I don't normally go in for existentialism much, but I've a feeling that on Saturday afternoon I'll be asking myself "why am I here?"

Bought a ticket for this a few weeks ago. Debating whether to spend the additional £50 on fuel / pie or not bother.

Enjoyed the pie being thrown in there. Similar to Pozzo debating whether to waste £4,5 million on Kalu and a pie or not bother :)

I am due to go to this game on Saturday. It will be my first for nearly 8 weeks, which is unheard of for me in a normal season. Mrs Willis and I went to the Villa game in February and thoroughly enjoyed the unexpected win, but we were then 'treated' days later to the abject capitulation at home to Palace. It was at that point that I decided not to spend any more money on this team this season by booking more away trips and so we have missed the unlikely point at Old Trafford and the win at Southampton. The last two home games I have missed through illness - the second with covid - but now I am fit the team's situation is hopeless and I feel I will be attending the remaining home games out of habit and I doubt I shall derive any enjoyment from them. I really don't know whether to be sad or angry. :(/:mad:

Bless, we were you in 2017 wide eyed and innocent thinking we’d cracked the Premier League, I think we had a Sheffield Utd fan on here gloating in the exact same way 2 years ago as well.

Just enjoy it while it lasts, because it won’t last long.

Very cringey, can you not be a bit original at least? What you've said is nearly as bad as "good luck for the rest of season, apart from when you play us!"

Never really understood why fans' of other teams make an account, post a few times then vanish. Generally it's the side that is nailed on to win. Football is a gloating game for some, I get that, but I do find it somewhat odd to post how crap we are on our own forum when we have known that since the Villa game in August. Of course, you get the long stays and decent folk like Filbert, ToffeeBlue, somebody Claret and I think there's a Brighton Fan too.

A classic zero-pointer "doesn't matter if we win or lose now" game.
    WFC 0 Brentford something.
When is it ? Saturday or midweek ?

I've never been to Hull for football or any other reason. What's great about it? Genuine question because I would consider going next season.

Friendly place (last time I went the card machine wasn’t working in the away end so a steward took me to buy a home ticket then back to the away entrance to explain what had happened and get it swapped for an away ticket without any fuss), plentiful parking, a nice 5-1 win (not guaranteed), decent cheap pubs. If you don’t want to subject your kids to the football they can spend the afternoon at The Deep which is a really excellent sea life centre. There’s a street called The Land of Green Ginger. Main drawback is the local accent which has only a single vowel sound so you’ll be told you’re Wehrtfehrd fans.

Also when you get home you can announce you’ve been to Hull and back.

Instant loss. Toney brace. Mbuemo to run us ragged. Eriksen vs our £18 million assembled midfield and he'll put it to shame. Wish I wasn't such a tightwad, I'm only going cos I've paid for my season ticket and refuse to waste it.

    We're sh1te, they're less sh1te. Therefore another tough day for Ponzo's p1ssants, something like us 1 them 4.

If time travel was real, I genuinely believe you could wheel in Derby's finest from 07/08 and they'd turn us over.

Have to admit to being somewhat biased as I was at Hull Uni in the 90s. But plenty of cheap beer, always friendly people (in my experience), stadium easy to access (I parked about 10 min walk away last time with no problems getting in / out). And if you fancy a weekend of it, loads to do in the city centre or treat yourself to a drunken swagger / refreshing walk across the Humber Bridge.

We've lost 12 home games so far this season, the record for the most home defeats in a single premier league season is 14.

We've got four more home games left, Brentford, Burnley, Everton and Leicester.

I bet these sorry bunch of losers are so inept they can't even break the record.

Oh I wouldn't worry about that. Watford are all about breaking records for the wrong reasons. Take this season - no clean sheet till Burnley was it? Lads will be drooling at the chance to go 15 lost home games.

    Brentford
    Burnley
    Leicester
    Everton

Now at optimistic hornet would look at those final home games and think... 7pts not out of our reach. When we play at home, we seem to play blindfolded and clueless.

Why have the club scheduled a game in the middle of the Fans' Committee saga? No-one cares about this, let's just get it out of the way with minimal effort and get back to the really important stuff.

0-4 followed by the obligatory 'We won't stop fighting until it's mathematically impossible for us to stay up next week'
