This Friday brings relegation rivals Norwich to Vicarage Road. They currently sit one place below us and can potentially plunge us into the bottom 3 with a win Following on from their surprise/no surprise really victory against a really quite bad Everton team on Saturday the 15th. Their last win before that being 1-2 away at Brentford on the 6th November. Their last prem goal before Saturday was at the end of November. Their only real goal threat seems to be Pukki who has 5 goals this season averaging 0.25 goals per 90 minutes. With Tzolis and Sargent both on 2 goals and then 1 goal from 7 around the rest of the squad Our Head to Head record is usually not a draw. I was surprised at the stats of Watford winning 57%, Draw 7% and Norwich 36% Odds for the game sit currently at Watford 2.14. Norwich 3.50 and a Draw at 3.50 Norwich have only managed to score in 20% of their away matches this season. If Sam Byram is playing for them he gets an incredible, to me anyway, 1.22 cards per 90 minutes. As for the Team uncharacteristically they seem to have spent quite a lot on untested foreign youngsters last summer, none of whom have been particularly of premier league quality. Sounds a little familiar. They have some of their better players back in terms of GK Krul (who has had covid about 60 times UPDATE: Shoulder injury) Pukki and Grant Hanley Likely line up, a hard fighting 442 Gunn (Krul out) Aarons (Gluteal injury 75% chance if not / Giannoulis) Hanley Gibson Byram (Thigh cramp 75% chance if not Gianoulis) Sargent Sorensen Lees-Melou Rashica Idah Pukki Prediction Id love to say this will be 1-0 to us but Im going to go for 1-1 1-1 Dennis 13, Pukki 90+2
Bringing my best man to this game who's first game of football was the reverse fixture earlier this season and he loved it. Tough one to call this as Norwich looked half decent against a pretty ropey Everton. To live without hope is to cease to exist
True, they’ll be absolutely unstoppable after scoring their first goals since November, after already smashing in 10 goals this season I guess it’s inevitable they’ll add more against us .
Krul looks to be out. Photos with his arm in a sling today... https://twitter.com/PeggJames/status/1483100348743041027?t=9jCsvHcA1BAUgAf9l4yWsw&s=19
Must win, and I think we will. A focused team will come out of the blocks quickly and we will win 3-0.
Norwich has always been seen as welcome fixture for us over recent seasons. We got our first win of the season under QSF 2.0, beat then pretty convincingly in Xisco's first game in charge, won at their place the same season to more or less seal promotion and battered them at their place this season. However, they always seem to be a better Championship side overall than us, and consistency in that division trumps ours over recent years. I don't many Norwich fans' myself but they seem quite level headed and know the strengths of their side. A lot of people compare us to them in regards to success and failings but in reality they are bankrolled by a TV Chef and we by a Italian who is seen as losing focus in our ambitions. But, on the pitch it could be a tasty one. Norwich will be itching to get on a winning streak after seeing off a toothless Everton, while we ended a rot of losses with a precious point at Newcastle. Odds are in our favor for a convincing win on Friday night. However we have been about as easy to predict this season as Danny Roses' diet sheet. I am backing us to win this one, then we can relax on Saturday with three points in the bag. I just hope the postponed Burnley game was a blessing not a curse in concentration levels. Watford 2 Norwich 0
Krul to be kind,in the right measure Krul to be kind, it's a very good sign. Krul ....cont'd page 94.
5 wins in a row against Norwich, surely this is going be another win. 2-1 Watford. I apologise in advance for jinxing it if we don't end up winning.
This game has to be called off. It states in the EPL rule book, if your best player has a niggle and your next opponent is a club like Watford, then all postponement requests will be granted until such time you are back to full strength.
Aarons gluteal 75% chance will play, Willams Thigh strain/cramp 75% will play Ive put likely alternatives in if they dont
Must win game. Either 0-4 (Allen 2, Sherwood, Roberts), or 5-0 up with 10 mins to go but match abandoned as covid sweeps through the Norwich team causing them to request a postponement after 80 mins with the Prem League granting their request within 60 seconds.
Easiest game of the season followed by Burnley away. This will be our first clean sheet of the season, problem is, I don't know if we will score in this game. And if we will score, who will score for us? Pedro looks like the best bet as we don't know what's wrong with Dennis and king isn't the one we can really bank on to put the ball in the net. Absolute top banter that so far I have seen some predictions that would involve us getting a clean sheet.
**** or bust I feel. A must win which must be worth 10 or 11 points. They are complete bobbins and although we're not much better I still think we will have enough in this. Norfolk Dapple is an excellent cheese by the whey
Surprisingly for me I have plumped for a 'win' for us, as if we cannot manage to beat this Norwich team at home, seemingly with several impactful injuries to key first team players, under a coach as ropey as Dean Smith, I believe subsection 3, paragraph xi of the Premier League handbook is activated, and we are instantly relegated, with the rest of our remaining three-point tranches for the season distributed evenly amongst the top six.
I have a feeling/ it has been suggested to me that we might see the alternatives which is I think good for us
