Very early days but it’s looking like a great deal by the club. He’s not good enough in CM as part of a 3 man midfield. And he’s not getting much game time over Sarr. But if he has a storming season, we could have a ready made replacement should Sarr get sold, plus money to spend on other positions. Or if Sarr stays then we have Zinc to sell on the back of a decent season. I hope he can continue with this excellent early season form.

Nottingham Forest fans are loving him!

"Zinks is an upgrade on Knockaert. His crossing/set pieces/delivery is absolute quality.
    Has the temperament too."
"Stronger and quicker and, so far, less temperamental."
"He looks a level above most of what is around him."

Definitely a player in there for when the inevitable happens.

All good points. My concern is depth….what if Sarr gets injured? We need more than one player for each position.

Lol, never, unless perhaps we get relegated as well, though even then he'd still never be fit to lace Sarr's boots.

Let us not also forget that Garner, who was crap with us and still isn't very good, suddenly seemed ace and Forest's best player when he moved to there.

Simple shift. Dennis or Cucho to RW, King or Pedro to take the empty position.

True, but it appears in terms of formation and the type of player to fit it we are going down the Liverpool route - 3 hard working CM’s and then let the front 3 do the business of attacking (in the absolute most basic of terms).

Zinc doesn’t fit in the CM in that system. And we have Dennis, Cucho, Sarr, Fletcher, Sema, King and Pedro (plus Deeney and Baah) that’s 7 / 9 for 3 spaces. Arguably at least 4 of those can play on the right of the 3. Easy to see why at least one person needed to go out and why we probably won’t miss Zinc for this season.

They aren’t RW’s though. So we are already shifting players around to fill holes, that’s my point in part.

I mean I’m not saying he’s as good now or even going to be Sarrs level (though stranger things have happened). But he could end up being good enough for a starting spot in the team even in the Premier League and IF that happens then we have someone to play there when we sell Sarr. Meaning we have money plus his replacement.

If he doesn’t come good then I guess there was no point having him here this season anyway.

All opinions of course, but mine is this is looking like good business.

I reckon Dennis has the requisite pace to fill in at right-wing.

Pace can usually play anywhere on a front line, and we have the CFs to cover.

Zinc must be hating his move to Forest right now. Awful start to their Championship campaign.

Forest fans saying he's carrying the team. Looks like they've got the talent, but Hughton's playing Ivic-ball.

If it's a tough season, he'll toughen up accordingly.

Did we ever play Garner wildly out of position?

I definitely see parallels between our setup and Liverpool's. We're like a less good version with more defensive full-backs.

Definitely like Liverpool, we both play with 11 players including a goalie.:D

I kind of agree but if Sarr remained injury free for 90% of the season Zinc would get very little game time

Well obviously but by the same token, Sarr could break his leg next week. I’d rather we plan for the worst and hope for the best.

This isn’t me saying I don’t get the train of thought that this loan has its benefits. But I just rather we had kept him when all is said and done.

Few rumours on Twitter that Chris Hughton is to be sacked in the next 24hrs.

At Stoke on Saturday I think. Could be the end of him.

Definitely a decent player, but I think it's far more beneficial for him to be playing every week for Forest rather than sitting on the bench for us. Its a win win really as he'll either end up coming back a better player or we'll flog him for decent money

They weren't quite as pathetic at the end of last season compared with the season before, but it was a 4 game losing run at the start of last season which ultimately did for Sabri Lamouchi (remember him?)

Only way he ll likely play for us again is if we get relegated.

If we stay up, we ll have 50 mill of Sarr money to spend on rebuilding, and even without that he would have to oust Kucka, Tufan, and Louza from the team. And hes not good enough to play RW in the prem.

That'll be good for all involved. As long as they get an attacking coach in.

He was a bit like Gracia, blowing a playoff spot from a seemingly unblowable position influenced that decision so early the following season.
