Anyone on here have an interest in the Bundesliga? I've had a growing interest in it in recent months.

I'd love to see a team other than Bayern win the league but they are an unstoppable machine that seem to hoover up any talent within the Bundesliga and keep the smaller clubs from getting stronnger. It's a good think IMO therefore that Havertz isn't going to Bayern. No matter the fee that Leverkusen receive, should he be sold to Bayern, Leverkusen's loss would be Bayern's gain.

This is a solid article on RB Leipzig. I understand that the idea of a brand like Red Bull running a football club is unorthodox to a lot of German fans, but surely they can't be more hated than Bayern?

Rafa Honigstein's Steilcast is a solid podcast that focuses on the Bundesliga. Definitely worth a listen IMO.

Fackin hate RB Leipzig. Hardly anyone in Leipzig supports them but follow Lokomotiv. The old Vfb Leipzig who were the original champions in Germany. They must be as hated as Bayern. Another plastic club sadly through to the semifinals of the Franchise CL.

Hope Union Berlin stay up again. There seems to be a paucity of young German players in key positions. I'll be following Palacios at Leverkusen, Asascibar at Hertha for the most part. Also Mateo Klimowicz at Stuttgart where he has declared for Argentina despite interest from Poland being of Polish descent. His dad Diego was a very good striker whereas he plays in midfield and also hails from Instituto de Cordoba where Dybala started out at. Nicolas Gonsalez his compatriot has handed in a transfer request from promoted Stuttgart. Expect the same boring season with Bayern toiling to another title. Bielefeld joining Stuttgart in fighting for their lives. Heidenheim a surprise package and very young team could not get past Werder for promotion in the playoff. Hamburg, Nuremburg and Hannover are still stuck in BL2.

Football in all the major European leagues is so eminently predictable now and incredibly boring. One team leagues in France, Germany and Italy. The duopoly in Spain and the same mob in England. Excruciatingly bad. Eight titles in a row for those winkers at Bavaria Munich. Vampiric horrors that they are. Honigstein is a Bavarian boot licker as well which makes him hard to stomach.

I enjoy watching the Bundesliga on BT Sport. Like others, I can't stand Bayern and the way they take the best players from all the other clubs in Germany. I'm not that keen on Barcelona but hope they beat Bayern tonight in the CL.

I suppose, being a Watford fan, I like the underdogs and smaller clubs like Union Berlin, St Pauli and 1860 Munich. Of the bigger supported clubs, I have a liking for Schalke 04 despite them being pretty average.

Also a big BL fan. Not a fan of the idea of RB Leipzig but they are a fantastic team to watch and their scouting is ridiculously good. Excited to see Bellingham and Sancho tear it up this season, likewise Haaland who I think is incredible.

Bayern Munich shat on Barcelona, if fans were there there would be a riot.

Crazy result that, and Coutinho scoring two as well. Doesn’t seem to be a thing in Europe to prevent loan players playing against their parent club for some reason.

Sad to read that Nagelsmann will become the new head coach of Bayern at the end of the season. 5-year deal.

This is just the bundesliga isn't it? Anyone with real talent just gets snapped up by Bayern.

As much as I hate the 'big 6', at least it's not a 'big 2' or a 'big 1'.

What happened to Schalke? They were regular qualifiers in the ECL and now they are heading to BDF2, were they like Leeds in trying to keep up with the Jones' and now paying the price?

The ‘big 6’ are self labelled though, even though the title is never a 6 horse race. Arsenal haven’t won it for 20 odd years, Spurs never have and United are a million miles away from doing so again. City will win it for the next few years.

And when it is usually only 2 are teams involved generally.

I guess somewhere like La Liga this season is an exception.

Most of the titles are won by 1/2 of the most powerful sides across Europe now unless they have a bad season like Juve have letting Inter in.

In principle I agree, except I would say the big 6 are labelled by the media for their own convenience, while implying its members will never change. They forget that Chelsea and Man City only reached that financial status by being bought by mega-rich owners and that could happen to others. I also don’t subscribe to the idea that football began in 1992, so Spurs have won the title - just a very, very long time ago. I also don’t think Man U are “a million miles” away from winning it.

It's an accurate label in terms of revenue though.

Another exciting unpredictable season in the Bundesliga. Cannot wait to see which contender wins it next season.

Lewandowski broke Gerd Mullers records of goals in a season with is forty first in injury time against Augsburg. One team league which is extremely boring.

Most of the other bigger teams in Germany either seem to get relegated or try their best to!

Schalke and Werder bremen demoted with Cologne potentially going to join them.

Is this a result of their ownership regulations? Perhaps the better supported teams don’t have the same financial advantage as in other countries, so it’s a more level playing field and smaller clubs can do just as well.

It was exciting one year wasn't it?
Didn't Schalke have it won until a last minute winner from Baron Gottfried von Cramm FC change all that?!

It was a last minute equaliser that denied Schalke the title. There is an article on the BBC website of how Schalke were "champions" for 4 minutes and 38 seconds

This is where we should swoop in on Schalke and Werder but we won’t.

Schalke will be in the Bundesliga 2 for a long time. Over £175mil in debt apparently. They will literally have to start again. Hate seeing clubs like them go this way, when Bayern just keep winning. Would love for something to happen to Bayern that causes a 4 year transfer ban which isn’t overturned.

Bayern win their tenth title in a row. Yawn. Beat second placed Dortmund with ease. No doubt will be looking to take away the other clubs youngsters again.

Now people say the SPL is boring but bugger me so is the Bundesliga. Ten titles in a row. The most hated team in Germany as well.

Not seen much of Markoa$ since he disappeared overseas but Werder and Schalke are poised for a return to the Bundesliga as they occupy the top two spots in BL2 with Darmstadt in third.
