If you mean has he finally shown his true colours and is in fact shyte, then after tonight's showing the answer is a resounding 'yes sir'.

Imagine giving him an actual start and some proper time on the pitch? No? Just 20 minutes at the end?

    Cool.

Don’t be silly, that would just disrupt the balance of the team. We already have Sarr on one wing so the other side has to occupied by a slow, centre-midfielder. It’d be suicide to attempt anything else.

    Couldn't agree more
And our " completed passes" stats would start to look not quite as good if Zinkernaagel started his creative
forward pass into danger nonsense. Let's just stick with the " sideways or backwards"

Has to be given an opportunity from the start. He's a wasted talent sitting on the bench atm.

He scored 22 goals last season all be it in the Norwegian league, so maybe we should try him up front for us he can't be worse than our current front two, can he?

He has to start tomorrow. Could it possibly get any worse if he did? Sarr central and Zinckernagel on the right. If it doesn't work I'm sure Gosling can slip in on the right side.

Nope, none. He's on the bench so he's presumably fit to play. It makes no sense whatsoever.

For all we know the chap mightn't even be that great. His stats in Norway are impressive but there's no denying it's an inferior league. Still baffling that he's not been given a few starts, it's not like players in his position have been performing so well they're undroppable.

It's a mystery. He makes things happen, he is positive, he is good with the ball. As others have said, he may be used to a lower standard league, but he must be better than our non-performers at the moment.

His teammate Hauge who played in the same inferior league is doing well with Milan, and is their stand-out player in the Europa League. Surely Zinc can play against the likes of Millwall and Coventry.

If scouts from several top clubs are interested in a player then it is a sure thing they must have something about them. It was a coup to get him but then he has been sidelined. We saw another dreadful free kick this time from Sema yesterday. Play this Zinckernagel. In behind and around Pedro. If he continues to sit any longer on the bench he will continue to lose match sharpness and fitness and the ability to build an understanding with his team mates. We are running out of games. He's not injured if he is training with the rest of the squad. The mind boggles.

I've been told that he hasn't been starting because he didn't sing Sweet Caroline for his initiation song.

This thread is already amusing - of course the reason why Zinc hasn't got more game time is because Xisco has no idea what he's doing, and not because Zinc isn't actually up to it yet.

If anything the question should be why was he given minutes in games like today at all given that him coming on usually has a negative influence on us - he was beaten way too easily after just coming on in the build-up to QPR's winner against us and he kept putting us under pressure after coming on today as well.

He's looked more of a liability than an asset so far. He'd sloppily wandered offside for his goal as well.

When Iggy first played he looked lightweight, 6 months and +1/2 a stone later he was sorted.

JP put on 6 pounds over the summer = different player.

Zinc needs to get on the weights and full English breakfasts. He'll come good. Right now though a bit of a wet paper bag.

Ighalo’s debut was the worst performance I’ve ever seen. Astonishing that he went on to do what he did judging by the first showing.

I disagree, the player can't be judged after a few minutes, give the bloke a chance. Hughes had a great game today, but he gave it away three times in the last 15 minutes too. It happens.

He clearly isn't the player to bring on when having to sit back against a late onslaught when still trying to find his feet though. I thought he did well against Utd though.

But he needs more minutes, not less.

...and I think he stayed level for his goal on Saturday, and so did the linesman.

Yeah I'd rather he came on when we're chasing the game and perhaps have the opposition penned back. In situations like today it's just asking for trouble when he's not ready.

At least his knee seems almost certainly ahead of the ball. It was totally unnecessary from him.

Of course one can't be 100% sure, but in the PL VAR probably chalks that off:

He obviously doesn't no anything about game management he's a liability with 10 mins to go when we are winning just leave him on the bench ,too weak for the battle

Poor guy is an attacking right winger stuck into a Championship central defensive midfield with minimal game time in a different country. Still scored as many from open-play as our so-called strikers.

He needs to cut out trying to play it out from the back, though. Do a Sierralta and get rid!

Not convinced myself, using the 6yd line as a guide, but agree it’s very close and probably need not have been.

Zinckernagel has not been too impressive so far and has indeed looked light weight, but I feel he will improve and become a decent asset for the team.

Furthermore, although others have said it was, I don't know for sure that it was Zinckernagel that ****ed up that pass when we were four on to two in that breakaway near the end. However I do know I was fuming with whoever it was because we almost certainly would have got a 2nd goal if they had not made such a hash of that pass. In fact it might easily have cost us 2 points because PNE actually went quite close with the counter attack from the **** pass.

Zinckernagel’s sub was the right one. He created one chance for Gosling, got us up the pitch a few times and should have done better with the breakaway. I see them as positives rather than negatives. What doesn’t help him is he’s being played all over the pitch every sub appearance. He’s naturally a right sided forward - he’s played there for less than 10 minutes since he joined.
