I've watched a good few minutes of this chap on YouTube and I can tell you he looks like the Moroccan Maldini. If Maldini had been absolutely **** at football and given it up at an early age that is.

In case anyone was in any doubt, this guy definitely replaces Zinckernagel on the bench. Xisco's wet dream is a bench of Elliot, Ngakia, Navarro, Lazaar, Cathcart, Wilmot, Gosling, Hughes, Pedro.

No issue with this. There might have been someone better/more inspiring we could have signed in January but this provides backup for Masina and ensures that Ngakia and Femenia don’t have to be shunted over to the left from time to time. Not glamorous but easily better than nothing, particularly on a short-term contract.

Never no might give masima the rocket he needs, to put a bit more effort in to his overlapping runs to help sema out

I don't think overlapping full backs are a part of Xisco's tactical masterplan.

For what it's worth I don't think Deeney (and Gray) are better than nothing as they impose the opportunity cost of preventing Joao Pedro's development, the cultivation of a more attractive and technical style of play and a better culture throughout the squad.

I admire the confidence but I think when he's not dribbling over his tactics board he's just coming up with ways to kick the ball to Deeney's face.

I think THGTTG might be a good analogue to Watford Fc

Ford Prefect = Pozzo , comes from somewhere else , makes very little sense , completely detached from reality
Zaphod Bebblebrox = Deeney, full of self importance , no idea anybody else exists
Marvin the paranoid Android = any coach that has been with us for more than 3 months
Trillion = Emma Saunders, seems intelligent but buys into Zaphod’s(Deeney) ********
Ford Prefect = the fans, in a constant state of bewilderment , think things can’t get any more bizarre , just before they do

Newcastle supporting friend described him as a decent player, terrible attitude. So should fit right in.

OK we have signed this guy from the bargain bucket of players out of contract, and by all accounts he was somewhere near the bottom of that bucket, but u never know he might turn out to be another Serrialta :p

In principle I've no objection to us rummaging around in this bargain bucket of players if we really are as broke as many seem to think we are. However, if we are going to spend what meagre funds we have on these sort of players why have we not dug out a bargain bucket striker or two, as I am sure there has to be one or two strikers in that bucket that are better than what we currently have now?

This has put a different spin on things. Seems that Sheff Wed fans rated him and are disappointed he didn't sign for them.

‘Disappointed’ - Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans react as former player makes EFL switch | Football League World

Don't forget, Newcastle fans are the worst in the country (West Ham a close second) when it comes to slagging off players who left them. It's like the ultimate insult to them when a player doesn't want to live and die for the Geordie cause. Remember all the hatred directed towards Janmaat? So maybe all those Newcastle fans saying how dreadful he is should be taken with a pinch of salt. I think Wednesday fans (who are massive don't forget), maybe a better barometer in which to gauge him by.

Injury prone, but seems like he can certainly play well enough at Championship level. I'll say it quietly, but this might actually be an ok signing.

Like that phrase. Have used it previously to describe Janmaat.

Hamstrings made of spaghetti is another good one I've heard.

It only puts a different spin on things as you had already decided he's rubbish, like many others on here.

For those of us who have an open mind, it's just a little bit of good news.

If I had already decided he was rubbish and not open minded about the signing, why would I post something challenging that view? Hmmmm.....seems to contradict your accusation.

If he can run towards the opposition box with the ball he's an upgrade on Masina.

Surely even you understand why this signing, given the transfer window, has worried people in terms of the direction of travel.

    "...even you..."?

I am sure "even you" can read English well enough to make a point based on what I said, and not on what I didn't say.

'Head made of brie' is I believe what French fans call players who can't head the ball, as in, Ce Guillaume Hughes, il a une tête en brie.
