Watford have got 'closer to his entourage'. Was ace in Slade. http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-c...-recent-hours-enquiring-transfer-feasibility/
Has the lowest whoscored rating for last season of any Rennes player with more than 8 appearances. Hardly suggests he's their new Doucoure.
We are reportedly interested at a loan with option to buy according to RMC in France. Only played 6 times so far this season.
Strange, was tweeted first on this other account that looks similar but is brand new and has 0 followers... https://twitter.com/SurfaceFoot_/status/1352283014454267907?s=20
I don’t think it’s a Twitter windup merchant, though. This tweet shares an image of RMC’s reporting: https://twitter.com/actusrfc_/status/1352287314844803076?s=21 If my GCSE French serves me well it says that he’s our first choice Capoue replacement, we want to bring him in on loan with an option to buy, that he’s interested in coming to England, and that the clubs started discussions in the last few days. No idea if he’s any good.
Watford and Rennes discuss for James Léa-Siliki James Léa-Siliki is not sure of finishing the season with Rennes. The midfielder, who has received concrete interests from Belgium and Italy, could eventually finish in England. In recent days, Watford (Championship) has entered into discussions with Stade Rennais to try to bring in the French. With Etienne Capoue's departure from Villarreal, the suburban London club are looking for a midfielder and have made Léa-Siliki their number one choice. The Hornets are in talks with Rennes on the basis of a six-month loan with an option to buy. For her part, Léa-Siliki was very interested in the prospect of a departure for England. Lo*c Tanzi
Good stuff. No idea if he's any good but nice to see we're looking for a replacement. Looks more dynamic than our current midfield options, likes to get in the box and another left footer. I give this a big thumbs up.
He seems nothing like Capoue though - he's left-footed and French but that's about where the similarities stop. He does not seem that good defensively based on his stats, and also based on his highlights stylistically he seems much more of a box-to-box dribbler type of CM. He seems more of a Doucoure downgrade than a Capoue replacement. Odd. He scores three goals in that highlights vid, but those are all from the 2017/18 season - he has 0 goals and 4 assists in the 2.5 seasons since (though he's also barely ever played in that whole time). It would be nice to have a midfielder who can actually run with the ball, but in Hughes and Cleverley I'd have thought we're okay still for more the more advanced CM of a 2.
Looks a decent player, pretty dynamic but (to the extent that a highlights video is anything to go by) not as defensively minded as Capoue. An interesting kind of player to replace him with.
We have been linked with him a few times in the past - so I think this one is quite credible. https://www.soccersouls.com/watford...freshen-up-things-in-a-key-area-of-the-pitch/
Could well be that we don’t even want to replace Capoue with a like-for-like styled player and such a player doesn’t fit the current ‘philosophy’ of the club/coach. I also think if Garner can’t work his way back into playing more regularly, United may well be looking at sending him elsewhere where he will - that’s just a thought though, nothing more. But maybe it could be one loan out, and another in.
Ha, so there are even fewer similarities. I think that's tripped me up before, maybe it's because he's still good with both feet.
Yep, think we had a similar exchange before! Although in fairness, hard to tell when you can ping it cross field with either foot...
Yep. Solskjaer made some snide comment about how we should be playing him more recently. The midfield needs more zip, it needs a Guedioura type character who's all action, will go and get us the ball back, surge past people, drive the team forward. All too one paced at the moment, and Garner is just a very bland player with very little oomph.
From watching that, I'd say he's more Doucoure's replacement rather than Capoue. Good engine and likes a long range shot.
Well it very much looks like we won't be getting a Capoue replacement, but I think a lot of us were a bit blasé about Doucoure leaving, we could very much do with that type of player
Have decided this guy will catapult us to automatic promotion, probably overhauling Norwich. We've already got our crap signings out of the way this season. This guy is going to be the box to box presence and Zinckernagel the creativity we need. Sexy football is back! Unless we don't sign him. Or he's crap. Or Zinckernagel turns out to be rubbish.
2 of the scouts I know really like him and think he'll do well in the Championship, that's enough for me, get it done Gino
Sarr must of recommended him. Which tells me Deeney must be clutching at straws finding players for his team. Deeney has just sat down with Zinkernagel in canteen. Td: so zink do you have any recommendations from the Norwegian league that can bolster our squad in any area but up front ? PZ: that was my bread roll TD: Sarr recommended some French kid that plays midfield PZ: that was the last portion of chicken that the chef cooked for me TD these boys your talking about, can they play the Chalobah role? PZ **** man that protein drink was made especially for me by the sports scientist and you need to stop talking with your mouth full. TD: never mind I’ll ask big Willy at least he played in a good league. You really need to eat something you’re in a competitive league now, you need to put a bit of weight on like me.
