Informs @marca : Kiko Femenía would be close to signing for Getafe. Valencia and Eibar would also have been interested in the player on the right wing, who has only one year left on his contract with Watford. Does that mean we've been lied to and that Kiko wasn't ill after all? I'm shocked. Running out of left back alternatives. Only Sema or Stevenson left.
Wasn't he also said to have signed a new deal by AL in the Athletic? If I remember, it was him and Kabasele but never announced?
Remember when Kiko and Janmaat played together and looked like the real deal? Seems like a lifetime ago. Shame it only lasted for 1 game.
Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal · 32m #WatfordFC transfer update Femenia almost certain to stay beyond international deadline despite 4 Spanish clubs showing interest (Alaves, Getafe, Valencia Eibar) plus Spartak Moscow. Also as per @philhay_ Blackburn also interested in Leeds LB target Barry Douglas
One of the few positives to take from tonight, another good performance from Kiko. Has his defensive limitations but works as hard as anyone, and is starting to contribute more going forward. Very impressive assist tonight, to go with his one for Pedro against Blackburn. Seems likely he wanted a move, but hasn't sulked, hasn't made himself unavailable, and looks like he'll play a big part this season.
Decision coming up for Vlad here. Ngakia has been one of the big pluses but he has little attacking end product. In a team devoid of creativity, Femenia's overlapping runs might soon be seen as more important than Ngakia's good defensive work.
I guess it depends who we are playing and how Ivic wants to set up. Is the chopping and changing a good thing though as neither can get consistent form wise.
I think that the best we could do. Kiko's attacking contributions on the left are pretty limited but pushing Sema forwards should plug that gap.
Had a decent month tbf, although not exactly outstanding. I guess the likes of Sema, JP and Garner didn't play every game
I voted for Pedro but only because King Ken wasn't an option. Congrats to Kiko and there is a lovely picture of his new baby swathed in a Watford blanket: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13370613/kiko-femenia-wife-birth-liverpool/
Fair play to him staying with the squad last night and thus missing the birth of his child. I'm sure he's not regretting being part of a classic 0-0 that will never be forgotten.
Just seen myself Foster mentioning Kiko missed the birth of his child to sit on the bench on the bench in Nottingham on a cold night. Poor bloke
Well, at least he's found his level. Good for him and good for us. Was still an utterly appalling player at Premier League level.
Another great contribution from him today, almost certainly our most consistently good player this season
Probably because Femenia is 30 and has proven himself nowhere near good enough for the league that we supposedly aspire to swiftly be back in. Ngakia is a decade younger and could develop into a Premier League right back if he isn't yet another player we stifle by favouring ageing cloggers year after year. That said, yeah, Femenia has been decent this season.
A player with good ability, happy to stay at the club. Such a refreshing attitude, compared to some of the wantaways we had throughout our squad.
