Nothing on FB from the club on what went wrong or if there's a refund.

Well, since that is the main channel for tens if thousands of Watford fans to follow games and it failed, I'd say yes.

Since fans can't be at games, it's pretty **** that the only legitimate means of following it failed. Duxberry waxing lyrical about fans at games rings a bit hollow when their main connection to the game fails. It should be considered a major let down.

If supporters can't even watch games then what the **** is the point in playing them?

Duxberry also seemed a bit insulted by the lack of transparency point raised at the virtual event. So surely the club can provide more info why all other platforms worked, yet due to an issue outside of the clubs control, Hive went down.

Also can’t quite understand why Jon Marks and Mooney aren’t in the media positions and able to provide their commentary from there as would normally happen - the fact the video footage went down and they said that was why they couldn’t even provide audio just screams ‘Mickey Mouse’ operation.

And they had to cram themselves into the corner studio and share a mic to commentate with deathly quiet sound...beyond parody really.

Yes I know old fashioned... but the commentary is not available online only on old technology.
The radio commentary was better than the audio only we were left with on hive.

Annoyingly, I don't have an FM radio in the house (well probably somewhere in a drawer somewhere on a wind up torch radio or something). I listen either on digital or on Amazon Echo, or occasionally on Freeview TV, which for 3 Counties means I don't get to listen to our games.

Has an explanation been given as to why our stream went down but Stoke's didn't? Surely suggests it's our **** up rather than the EFL's?

A radio, it's one of these modern contraptions, but basically it is just the same as a wireless.

I find the whole process of the hive incredibly frustrating. Trying to pay by credit card on my smart tv is painful. (I realise you can use your iPad now and watch on a tv). Finally when that’s done and I find the video, there is a blackout every 3 mins for a second (doesn’t happen on the iPad). Also I can’t get rid of the curser on the screen. The picture is a mile off hd and I struggle to make out any detail like players numbers and the ball is blurred when it’s kicked. There are only a few cameras used so key moments are missed. Last nights drop out was pretty much predictable as this is really not working very well is it. £10 is too much to pay. As it’s the only way to watch live I guess I’ll have to use it begrudgingly. I guess at least the clubs are getting a small income from this but it is crappy.
    Maybe the wireless is best.

I link.my laptop to the TV and it works fine. The only problem is the quality of the football.

I'd assumed we're all using the same cameras and stream, but with the hive live logo put on it, and Marks and Mooney

Last night before the failure the picture was buffering and blacking out a lot. I think there has to be a better way going forward.
Surely a tv subscription deal would be better quality and a better picture.

Seems the club are saying there was an issue with whoever was feeding the pictures to them but like you say thought everyone had that same feed?

I link my ipad to my Tele, but agree with everything you say, it appears the camera and picture are not in sync and its not a pleasant experience watching us play with no atmosphere, soulless really! Also the transmission is between 1 and 2 minutes behind the actual game, last night I happened to see on this forum that both teams had scored their second goals minutes before the Hive Life audio broadcast (second half) told me! I appreciate they are doing their best, but the product is far behind Sky's contribution which I would be happier paying £10 for!

Out of interest who was commentating? Wondered why Payne didn't come with Marks, have they split them or did he get all billy big balls thinking he's too good for the Championship?

Just had an email confirming the refund, and that passes for Coventry won't be on sale until last nights issue is fixed, what on earth could have happened to still be broken?

Mooney's overwhelming positivity in the face of anything has ground the system down and fried the circuits.

In the pre-game show last night I noticed the sound and vision from the studio chat was going in and out of synch to some degree. As for the broadcast delay, all streaming whatever the source, including the Sky app, is always at least 30 seconds and up to 2 minutes behind the 'live' TV service.

yeah the idea that the club can compete easily with the likes of Sky, who use BTs outside broadcast services for their enormous productions, and cost millions a year is a bit ott. single cams for smaller clubs, or a few cams streaming back to production studios is what we're going to get at best. They're not goign to have a couple of dozen techs on site for each game sadly.

Steve Palmer is guest and presenter and stats man and fan man and is probably the guy who fixed the problem.

Remember when an Oxford fan/electrician fixed our floodlights during a cup-tie in the late 90s?
