The tone of this translated article from Spain is very odd : http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-osasuna-estupinan-suarez-transfer/ Apparently it’s a revelation to the charitable trust of nuns that runs the combined orphanage and injured kitten sanctuary in Osasuna that some football teams exist to make money. Or at least won’t sell their players for peanuts.
It's hard to disagree with Osasuna IMO, because the Pozzo Model is basically what they say it is. The Pozzo's do basically treat their players as money making machines.
So do most clubs. It’s how clubs our size survive in the top two divisions and the likes of Sunderland show what happens when it goes FUBAR
Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal Update on Pervis Estupiñan - is in the UK but has to fulfil 14 days quarantine before starting #WatfordFC pre-season. Might have rabies, so they have to make sure he's not foaming at the mouth.
I assume he or someone he lives with tested positive then, as a negative test means you do not need to quarantine I believe Or perhaps he is actually leaving and it’s just a cover story to explain why he isn’t training
Everyone who enters the country from Spain (or wherever else is on the black list) has to quarantine for 14 days. You can't take a test to get out of it.
You’re right, i just looked it up. Funnily enough though it seems there are reports today they are considering changing it so a a couple of tests a few days apart may allow you to avoid quarantine https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/metro.co.uk/2020/08/19/heathrow-planning-virus-testing-facility-which-allows-travellers-leave-quarantine-early-13148102/amp/
The govt will flip flop on their quarantining policies a few times in the next couple of days, for sure.
That's so ridiculous it's unreal. If you take a couple of tests which come back negative a few days apart there's no reason whatsoever you should be in quarantine. Even having the quarantine in place is still a bit absurd for most places given how little effect the virus is having now and what the infection rate is in most countries vs the UK. It's probably just a ploy to discourage the general public spending their money abroad on holiday.
Exactly what I was thinking. Just because it’s being reported today, doesn’t mean he hasn’t already been here for a few days/a week or so etc. Only thing I can find on social media is him on holiday back on 28th July. Personally wouldnt be surprised if he landed in the UK last Friday.
Our wonderful clubs communications department should be able to tell us surely, oh sorry they don't do that do they
He's going to take ages if he's cycling from Spain to here. https://twitter.com/PervisEstupinan/status/1296145531803250689?s=20
Isn't that what normally happens? Besides, if he is staying here, he more than likely doesn't have a place to live lined up just yet. I am curious as to why he's still in quarantine when it seems all the others got back ages ago, whatever the plan is, it seems like a bit of a ****-up by the club
Major Latin American sports outlet has stated that he will be with us. The video of him training is to be ready for Watford.
I think the idea is to build up such a head of speed it then moves through space & time like a DeLorean.
Some has to generate the power. We'll not be able to afford the expense of the floodlights next season, so we've switched to dynamo.
Ngakia isn't really the type to charge up the field with abandon though, maybe he could become that player in time, but for now, I think he's more of a full-back than a wing-back. Reckon he could be a good option for us at centre back too if needs must
is alive and is in a video just released on the club twitter (in our kit) for the clubs media day which is today. He may indeed play for us! Come on! (you need to see the video for context).
Rumours going round that when he was nearing the end of his time at Osasuna, he was heard chanting 'I wanna go home, I wanna go hooooome, Pamplona's a ********, I wanna go home!'
