So frustrating. Watford have started badly in EVERY game since the restart. Why? They showed after half time they can play but as so often it was too late.
Back of the net. A depressing start to the weekend. There is far more to life than football in this Universe. However this particular club has a hold on us physically, mentally and emotionally. No rationalizing makes one feel any better.
Yup - i threw my beer at the screen at that moment. If anyone says Foster should be least **** player of the season, i will throw more beer. Has been utterly turd for months now. Good job we have a 39 year old waiting in the wings.
******* ****s. Have had enough of this squad. It's not about ability (although that's obviously a factor) it's about mental weakness. We have loads of players that don't even like football like Foster and Capoue in the squad. Then we also start with a back four that can't really defend - Kiko was a winger, Kabasele and Masina (lol) both strikers in their youth. There's no ******* desire to throw their body in the way or even any comprehension that keeping the ball out of the net is your primary job. Look at a team like Burnley or Sheffield United, they'll block everything, head everything. We've got the weakest defence you'll ever see mentally. You don't even have to be that good to stay up in this league. But you can't do it with a bunch of cowards. And he didn't play today but **** me Roberto Pereyra should be ashamed of his contribution this season. That we couldn't even (quite rightly) bring him on in a must win game because he has the heart of a mouse just about sums us up. We deserve to go down for years of signing weak willed cowards. Honestly, just all **** off.
Personally I thought it was weak. The interviewer actually said 'unacceptable?' and he said 'I wouldn't say that, I would say I expect better'. Weak. He's not looked interested anyway since the re-start. A man who probably knows his own fate regardless of how the season ends.
I want to hear how Pearson and Deeney are going to talk their way out of this. It was a f**king disgrace. We gave up almost immediately, we looked frightened and we lacked effort.. Why are we so unfit? What been going on at the training ground? We are down and will be in freefall for a number of years. A total embarrassment.
Can't even bring myself to talk about the first half, it was a shambles. Much better the first 20 of the second, but then again it couldn't be much worse. I don't know where we go from here, probably down. We're going to have to beat Man City or Arsenal, how on Earth is that going to happen?
Agree he knows his fate but think he looked suitably pissed off with the players in that interview. As much as we’d like him to mirror us and go absolutely spare at them live on Sky, I suppose that’s not going to help in the next week or so. What I would say is he didn’t defend them or even attempt to. He said some players were passengers.
I think we are being harsh on one guy. Will Hughes - I'd like to exempt him from the cowardly etc comments.
This is true. He has not looked interested. Rumours of Pearson falling out with Duxbury and Pozzo durong the lockdown. Pearson is off at the end of the season. A new manager in place for our Championship season to lead us into League 1. We are a complete joke
This is because they are collectively mentally weak. Apply a little bit of pressure and they fold every time. Once the game is over, like 10 minutes today, they relax. After half time I expected an improvement because the pressure was off. The game was over. It's easy to play when you know you've lost the game as there is no expectation of you. I suspected we were sitting ducks after Newcastle and that's now confirmed. Every match since the restart we've bottled the first half. This is a huge problem which will arise on Tuesday, until we're 3-0 down, then we'll relax and give everyone hope with a half decent end of match performance.....which is never carried over. All we can hope for is that Villa and Bournemouth fail to win either match. That's our only hope of staying up now.
Mate we don't call them this anymore. It's less abled people. Our defence are less abled people. Significantly less abled in fact.
He wasn't happy with that performance at all tonight. I'm not sticking up for him but he showed more passion tonight than he has the past few weeks.
I don't think so. If we'd played the first 20 minutes of the second half, how we played the first 20 minutes of the second half, we might have got something tonight.
I don’t understand this. I was assured that we were safe and that thinking otherwise was “bed wetting”. (Saved you the effort, @GoingDown).
Rather than MOM let’s do **** of the match as that’s more interesting. Top 3 ****s: 1) Masina 2) Cleverley 3) Foster a special shout out to Gray who seems to have shrunk to add to his attributes of no technique and no pace.
They were not prepared to offer any job guarantee even if we stayed up. So he has turned up each day and fulfilled his side of the short term contract. Left it all to Shakespeare and the players own devices.
Genuinely excellent since the restart. I really hope we hold on to him if we go down. Honourable mention to Sarr who I do think has kept trying too, though not with Hughes' tenacity. And in fairness Dawson has looked like he cared.
The ones who look like they care even a tiny bit are Hughes, Dawson, Sarr - and i'll throw Troy in there for being clearly injured but still playing. No idea what Capoue's injury is? Personally would do all we can to keep Hughes and rebuild a team around him.
If if if. Of our squad, who would get a move to a PL club when we go down? Sarr would, can’t think of many others. Because they aren’t good enough. The players thinking they are better than they are is what has cost us.
