He just knows there's no point in coming on here if we're in different leagues next season. I've had it on good authority he was wearing yellow socks today.
Over to you Big Ben, keep a clean sheet and we should stay up IMO! However it would be nice if one of you outfield boys could put one in the Spammers onion net just to confirm it. One-Nil To The Golden Boys Please
Watching football the only times I feel nervous know is watching two teams. One of course is Watford. Elevated heart rate and blood pressure for the last twenty minutes and no watching the penalties.
This thread is double edged until the results are in from the games involving muff and villa. In theory we could be level with muff going into the game. (We won't as they have Man City away). Nevertheless if we're 0-3 points ahead of either it's a different game to the 6/7 we have now. The one thing that I can't see happenimg now is villa and west ham only needing a point for safety on the final day. Which is a relief.
Hoping Everton are more awake than the comatose performance from Palace. They should win at home. Nonetheless it would be nice to take three points here but we must not lose. Sit on Noble and Rice and keep an eye on Soucek and his runs. Cresswell and Fredericks are pretty poor defensively. Amazing we were interested in him at one point.
Going to be a big game after that villa result today. Its not done and dusted yet, i can see villa getting something from everton. They were terrible today as well.
Everton are pretty poor away from home in general Opti. Far superior at home despite the fact the Gladys Street end will be empty. Villa are truly appalling away from home. Only better than Norwich but just behind us.....
Normally I would have no concerns with Villa going to Everton and losing, but now, after today, they face another side who are quite clearly on the beach after today's performance at Wolves. If Villa get anything from the Everton game, I'm going to be very concerned. Hopefully Ancelotti will get them fired up and they will have a reaction, but it's tough when you have absolutely nothing to play for and the other team is fully motivated, knowing their Premier League lives depend on it.
typical that villa won, as soon as we all feel safe, and now the west ham game looks more crucial that we at least get a draw
Yer but everton looked truly terrible today too. The middle of the table teams all look like they are on holiday already, like newcastle yesterday.
Motivation can only get you so far when there is a big gap in quality. It's not like the lower leagues where anyone can beat anyone anywhere.
If they have nothing to play for on the final day, then they will also likely have nothing to play for against Villa (as Spurs' penultimate game is before Arse v Villa and so Spurs could already be out of sight before then).
I've watched a lot of West Ham this season, and I can't see us beating them. Antonio always seems to play well against us and he's been arguably the player of the restart so far and they've got a real threat from crosses & set pieces with Soucek. Could maybe see us getting a point, but I think we'll lose...
I felt oddly confident this morning, thought we had done enough to stay up but after Villa beat pallarse (praying muff lose) Villa playing Everton , Arsenal , West Ham Us playing West Ham, Man City , Arsenal Muff playing Man City, Southampton , Everton West Ham playing us, Man Utd , Villa think it’s going to go down to the last day ,if muff lose they are down with Norwich and it’s a three way race with West Ham favourites. essentially Friday is a massive game, think we need to go for the win as not convinced 1 point will be enough think we could do it , but need to go at it from the 1st min , not leave it till 1/2 time
It really does depend on the Everton vs Villa game. If Villa lose that, and I think they will, then us and West Ham could play out a draw knowing it's 95% likely enough for both teams.
West Ham are very similar to Newcastle. Switch Saint-Maximin with Antonio. They both have good attacking options, but are not the greatest at the back. I think we're quite evenly matched. If we play a strong committed game, without the silly errors on the ball, we've got every chance of getting a good result, just as we did against Newcastle. They will be nervous too, don't forget that.
Newcastle are a fair enough comparison in terms of personnel, but the big difference is that West Ham will actually have something to play for against us, whereas Newcastle didn't.
It's still possible, with the right set of results, for Brighton to drop into 18th.... We get 4 pts (D, L, W) Villa get 7 pts (W, W, D) West Ham get 5 pts (D, W, D) Brighton lose all 3....
Is everyone so ecstatic about Nigel and our prospects now? Leicester have f ucked us about as badly as they possibly could there, all because they were too lazily arrogant not to **** their pants against a dire Muff side. Even let them run up their goal difference against them, meanwhile we're not too far away from our semi-annual bumming from City to help them out with that.
