If Newcastle were smart they would be focusing on next season to get ahead of everyone else. They are currently 13th. They can’t finish any lower than 14th, but won’t finish any higher than 11th. Definition of nothing to play for. They should just focus on the takeover, use their billions to sign whoever they want before the season finishes and be more prepared than any other team next season. I know you’re reading this Mr. Ashley.
I've got a feeling we will beat them. We are utter crap but I've just got a feeling that Newcastle won't be motivated or at the races at all tomorrow.
As **** as we've been, and we have been totally **** this season, they've only won 4 more games than us One of the 20 shots we had against Arsenal go in, we don't go headless chicken v Everton, we don't have QSFs negative bit... that's all the difference is between the sides It's eminently winnable if our lazy ****s can be bothered to put a shift in
Hopefully Pearson starts with Welbeck and leaves Deeney on the bench. I'd only stomach another Deeney start if he goes 4-4-2
So...yeah, I'm still a little nervous, but not nearly as nervous nowhere near as nervous as I was on Tuesday, which is probably a bad sign! On paper, I'd take a point, although we'd have to wait for the Villa and Bournemouth games to see if a draw would be a good result. Obviously a win would be fantastic and it's definitely not beyond us, but we'll need to play a bit better than we did midweek for that
Be pretty surprised if Pearson doesn't go for: Foster Masina Kabasele Dawson Femenia Hughes Capoue Pereyra Doucoure Sarr Deeney Would love Welbeck to start, but you know, fitness and all that. Pigs will fly before Deeney gets dropped, right? (insert joke about Deeney's weight)
Made it clear in his bizarre comments recently that he has absolutely no intention of dropping Deeney and is seemingly completely oblivious to his horrific performances.
If Welbeck cannot start another game after 4 days then we might as well get rid tbh as he won't be much good next season when the season really is packed into a tight schedule if despite being our best striker potentially he can only play once in every 2/3 games. Sure he will play from the start baring injury
This is the day Troy has to repay the unshakeable faith Nigel Pearson has shown him in making him undropable for the rest of this season.
I feel very unwell. I shall be on court from 8.30am until 1.20pm and I've no idea what I'll do then. Gnaw my own head off probably. Good luck everyone!
It's a thin line between being optimistic and being hopeful. I just think they have too much pace upfront to score less than twice and can't see us scoring 2 or 3. Hope I'm wrong.
COYH! Is today the day Troy finally shows up? He has never had such a poor performance streak before. I reckon he turns it around.
Yes, no wrap around flats and the celebrity squares, which was constructed for the 1999/2000 season. So anywhere between late 1999 and around 2007 I'd guess.
Went out drinking last night (wow that was a strange experience thought it would be packed , was actually really quiet) have a strange feeling in the gut of my stomach , could be excitement , but think it’s probably the burger topped with kebab meat I had at the end of the night
I cant see us winning this without a huge amount of luck... we will need an own goal, penalty or wonder strike to get anything out the game. 0-2 Newcastle assuming Saint-Maximin plays. He is one hell of a player. Gutted we didnt manage to sign him.
I’m worried that there hasn’t been a VAR outrage yet in any of our games since the restart. One might be due today.
