Played terribly against the worst side in the league. Won. Can't think of a player who really put in a good performance. Sarr in patches, Dawson from set pieces. Good goal from Welbeck but faded after. Deeney was horrendous - tough to put into words.
3 points everything. Capoue better, Dawson, Saar, Hughes, Welbeck, Dawson played well. Deeney, Femenia awful. Cleverley did a job when coming on. All eyes on Saturday.
Dawson and Welbeck did well. Really tailed off in the second half. Did not keep the higher tempo of passing. A win is a win but the job is far from done. Beating a doomed side 2-1 and barely creating anything is hardly anything to crow about. Lewis is on a yellow yet Sarr was rarely fed the ball. Lard arse managed to lose the ball several times can barely press. Useless flick on. Get Welbeck in centrally. Hope he remains fit and is looking more confident and worked very hard. The major thing is I hope they gain some confidence and assurance and keep working hard. They will have to do so because Newcastle and West Ham are going to be far more difficult tests.
Well, we got the job done. We could use this to kick on from here but won’t surprise me if we don’t. Deeney barely went near the ball 2nd half. Kiko was horrendous. Masina is championship standard at best.
There is a real lack of football intelligence amongst our squad. Not great, considering the amount of experience.
dawson only got that goal as they put a full back against a centre back at a centre piece there was about 2 foot difference in height
Phew, we can breathe again! For what it's worth, I thought we were OK, Deeney anonymous yet again, but we managed to get the ball more to Sarr who had a good game, and, that one chance for the young lad Idah aside, fairly comfortable when we went 2-1 up. The happy clappers will have their agenda, Nath and his fellow travellers will have another, but let's just put that aside for now, the main point is we got the win
Even if Deeney was playing well, he should be asked to take a break, because of the number of games being played in quick succession. Even more important that he takes a break playing as badly as he is currently. He can lift his game and mental attitude if he has a crowd roaring him on. Without the spur of the fans, he is lost.
Hopefully we are better at the weekend otherwise we will be taken apart. I think the players are giving 100%, but most of them are not good enough
A real lack of quality for most of the match, but for once can't fault the effort and work-rate of most of the players. The early Norwich goal might have even helped in giving them the kick up the backside they needed. Foster needs to speed up his distribution though when we're meant to be chasing the game, it's as if he wanted them to get back in to their defensive shape before restarting.
