Just to be clear on finances, if we go down we get the 90+m for where we finish. Only in the 2nd year would we have an issue with 42m or whatever it is.
Of course, we may have borrowed against that income already. Player sales will make up for it and removal of those earning large salaries not in the squad will also be trimmed.

The c£90m for finishing 20th is paid in installments through the season, as the vast majority of it is TV money. I'm absolutely sure we're spending that right now. The actual prize money (merit payment) for finishing 20th, which I presume isn't paid until the season is over, is £1.9m. I'm pretty sure we don't just get to June and the PL sends a cheque for £90m.

Everyone talks about our defence being terrible (I am not saying it is good) but if you take out the freak result against city we have not conceded much more than the rest of the teams from 7th down.
Was does stand out is our lack of goals, we need to start putting away more of the chances. We have the worst goals/shot ratio.

I hate to bring probability into this but the Liverpool, Norwich, Watford treble pays 7/2.

Absolutely right - our defence isn't great but our forwards are woeful.

Basically we need Deulofeu to play one of his blinders. That would massively boost our chances of getting all 3 points.

We need Sarr to run at people for 90 minutes with Deeney as a target. That should give GD room to play one of his blinders. everyone else can defend and hoof the ball up forward as necessary.

As I said, vs Burnley we should have scored before them and if we did I think we'd have won. We had the chances. Just need to be more clinical in front of goal. Maybe Troy will help that.

I and many around me were enjoying the game right up until they scored as we were playing well, spreading play well and showing some good attacking play minus the final ball.

Their goal went in and out heads dropped. So it's vital we take our chances and get that first goal on Saturday. Score that and I think we win.

Moron Flores will stick to 5-3-2, even though we have no centre backs and no strikers, and desperately play for a 0-0, but we'll lose 1-0.

Fact. End of. That's it. The undeniable truth.

Well Eddie is a Toffee fan but he's already been 'up north' once and returned with his tail between his legs. I'd describe Tindall more as a Rottweiler than a puppy.

Remember the club has recently signed a new invoice discounting facility with Barclays which enables them to borrow today against future guaranteed PL money be it this seasons money or next seasons parachute money. Some of it would appear to have been used to repay the £55m owed to XIII Capital as they have released the security they had.

We will only get to see an updated picture as at 30th June this year when the accounts are filed in Q1 next year

Would like to see us play Foster, Femenia (no other options), Mapps, Cathcart, Masina, Chalobah, Capoue, Hughes, Sarr, Delefeou, Deeney.

I suspect we will play Foster, Femenia, Mapps, Cathcart,Masina, Holebas, Hughes, Doucoure, Capoue, Gray, Delefeou.

Really? I would have thought the other way round: Burnley, with their unpleasant and unattractive, highly cynical and physical style of football are a bit of an outlier and Watford (decidedly lightweight) were always going to struggle to beat them. That is not to say the Premier League isn't physical, it is, but they specialise in it. Southampton are beatable and, if we fail to beat them, in what is clearly a key game, then we are in dead schtuck.

Gray really shouldn't start. He can do a job off the bench when others are tired, he's not a super-sub, but at least he then contributes. So I hope you're right on that. Trouble is of course we don't have a line of strikers to take his place.

Not sure about Doucoure vs Chalobah. I think I'd go Doucoure, I know he's been below par but Chalobah hasn't exactly set the world alight.

For a treble they are extremely shorts odds.

To put it into perspective, Flores is 9/2 for being the next manager to be sacked.

But I thought all three of those were nailed on 100% certainties?

In which case they wouldn't take bets let alone price it at 7/2.

And if we lose on Saturday is it that unlikely Flores would get sacked?

Foster, Folquier, Cathcart, Mariappa, Masina; Chalobah, Douccoure, Capoue; Sarr, Deuolofeu, Deeney.

SUBS: Gomes, Holebas, Femenia, Hughes, Pereyra, Success & Gray.

Will never ever happen but that's how I'd line up.

Well yes. But to put it in context the bookies are saying there about a 25% chance of what you are declaring a certainty happening.

I can’t be held responsible for the actions of the bookies.

They take odds on everything, even certainties. Three teams will be relegated. That’s a fact, yet you can bet on every team to go down. So the bookies know they have to pay out on certain things.

Someone will win the league yet you can bet on all teams, even though they know they will have to pay out on one of the teams.

They will only stop taking bets when it’s mathematically impossible for another event to occur. That’s the way they do things and it’s up to them.

If I was a bookie I would not take bets on Liverpool, Norwich or Watford as I know I’d lose all my money.

Wow! Honestly , wow! Yes I do understand the concept of loss leaders. I have worked in companies that use loss leaders and helped work out the best ones to use.

If you want me to explain why this not a loss leader then I will do so tomorrow as I’m off out now.

As always you have your opinion and stick to it. But having lost to Burnley we'll be adrift if we dont win this. Making this more important that Burnley.

It's not even close. Anyone that would start Chalobah ahead of Doucoure at the moment hasn't been watching Chalobah closely. He's been awful every time he's played.
