That has been the case for quite some time now. Match going punters are simply extras in a TV show.

Well it's said no fans could go to the games and it wouldn't make a lot of difference as clubs get more from the TV deals.

Wouldn't make for good telly though.

Strange how the Villa game has been moved forward by 15 minutes.

Leicester game in December is a 7.30 kick off as well. Seems to be a new thing as part of the new TV deal that games kick off at 7.30 or 8.15 midweek now.

I can remember in the 70s when our midweek kick-off time was put back from 7.30 to 7.45 where it’s been ever since. I was at university in Birmingham at the the time and it meant that I would now miss the last reasonable train back after a game, necessitating a change at Rugby and getting back after two in the morning. Still did it, though.

Just seen this on the WFC site - was it a complete surprise that any teams made it though? This is crap.

Due to Premier League teams progressing to the knockout stages of UEFA club competitions, fixture amendments for the month of February will now be released no later than Friday 20 December.
This will allow the League to take into account the outcome of UEFA’s knockout draws, before allocating Premier League fixtures accordingly within the mid-season player break.
The draws for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and UEFA Europa League Round of 32 will be conducted on Monday December 16.
The mid-season player break will see all 10 fixtures of match round 26 played across the weekends of February 7-10 and February 14-17.
The break was introduced in June 2018 following positive discussions with the FA and EFL regarding the football calendar.

  9. FFS. So now I don't know the dates of the games I'm not going to bother going to.

March due out today, will probably be delayed again.

Why do they issue a schedule of dates at the start of the season when they are always late?

In fairness, the PL website does say it's an approximate date.

I understand that these could be approximate dates when set at the start of the season, but why can't they say now when they will be announced?

They are probably waiting for the FA cup ties to be completed so they can see who to avoid showing around the FA cup dates in March. The date for the 4th round was not a surprise, they should of set a date for the announcement after this weekend at the start.

    Rant over :)

While I might not mind waiting a month from 14th February at Vicarage Road for a game on 14th March I think my wife might object.

Guess it's the Pearson/Rodgers angle they latch onto.

  16. Is our Man U game on Sunday 23rd Feb not televised?
