I saw Chris Houghton going into the executive area. Perhaps he was just going to watch or maybe scouting for Spurs. Anyway Kabaselle, Pereya and Cleverley our best players. Thought Holebas looked poor.

But for me it's the lack of goals. Gray really must score that. His work rate can't be complained about, but woeful quality. I will give Welbeck a free pass as he has hardly played in last 12 months, but again he must score that. Or at least try to go around the keeper and hope to get a penalty if he can't hit the net.

Dawson - people around say it was a miss, but I think it was a good save.

Not sure how Doucoure is seen as better than Capoue. Both work harder than Chalobah. Which must be the reason he is not playing.

If we can keep in touch with Newcastle, Norwich and Sheffield United I think we might just scrape 17th. Next two months are critical.

Javi got dogs abuse for not starting Welbeck and Sarr but the former looks well short of fitness and the latter looks shell shocked every time he comes on the pitch. And at least he recognised Deulofeu is by far our most dangerous player, Quique is going to piss him off and make him leave if he carries on like this.

Deeney would never have been in that position in the first place. Until Welbeck (and Sarr?) came along Gray was the only player at the club to make the sort of runs that create those sort of chances. Of course, he's not got a good enough ball control/touch.
BTW he was offside for the open goal - which is every bit as disappointing as the miss.

    Wtf is the question?

In this team he'd do ok. Gray got outmuscled more often than not. Welbeck imo isnt an international standard forward in any way shape or form.

He was good today, but helped by the fact that we sat incredibly deep most the match, and packed our penalty box, meaning his lack of pace did not get exposed. He still looked sharper than Dawson though, for sure.

Another thing, the fact that he got injured yet again after 60 minutes, basically during the first time he was actually required to really sprint for the ball, could have been an indication that his legs very much are a ticking time bomb still - perhaps the club have been well aware of this and so have therefore not considered him to be reliable and have been reluctant to use him.

Just back from the game. QSF did all he could today, set us up to be solid in defence, deal with a lot of crosses and we came out of it with a clean sheet and a point.
What was clear to see today is it’s solely down to the performance of certain players that is really fudging us up.
As many have already stated Doucoure today was by far the worst player on the pitch he was so poor and repeatedly was so wasteful in possession I actually can’t remember any real contribution from him. On top of that the whole game was littered with mistakes and just general poor play.
We are almost a quarter of the season down and only 3 points to show for it. Now 4 points off safety. We are not terminal yet, but after watching today’s performance if we survive it will be down to the wire.

I am sure I quoted someone, but I'm not quite myself, if I'm honest. I'm a bit miserable after this and coming to terms with inevitable relegation.

Had a dodgy river for most of the game so my views may not be that informed , however:

On the bright side - clean sheet - haven't had one of those in the Prem for a while

Only real negative was we still looked dog **** and unlikely to score (might be a bit harsh we had a couple of chances we should have put away)

Drop Doucoure , let Challobah have a chance or give Hughes a go in the centre

We have 2 weeks to find some talent but can’t see an easy game in the next 3 (Tottenham , Bournemouth , Chelsea)

Just seen the Gray miss. That is absolutely atrocious. An open goal and a simple tap in. The ball wasn’t played at pace and Henderson didn’t effect the flight of the ball or block his vision. Add to the equation that VAR would have probably ruled it out as well for being offside. He’s had multiple chances and yes scored a couple of important goals but he is up there with Nathan Ellington as being the most expensive waste of space to wear a Watford shirt and call himself a professional footballer.
Also just to add I hate Ben Foster. His distribution is constantly poor and I’ve never seen him claim any type of ball that comes into the 6 yard box. That’s his territory and he lets crosses and players get in there for fun. Needs to hang his boots up pronto

So it's another winless match. If we fail to win at Spurs, which clearly will be the case, it will be 6 (SIX) months without a win in the Premier League.

We ARE the worst team in the league. That's a fact, after 8 games the table does not lie.

We have to win at least 11 games from the 30 remaining. More than 1 in 3. Today it was Sheffield United. Ok, they are making a good fist of it so far, but honestly, they have very little going forward. Everyone is delighted about a clean sheet, our first in 20 games, but we SHOULD be keeping a clean sheet against this type of opponent.

With the defence being so bad, it's taken away how **** our attack is, but today it was clearly exposed. But can we complain? Any Premier League team playing with Andre Gray leading their line, deserves all they get. He is ridiculously bad in front of goal. That miss today was horrendous, but entirely in keeping. When I saw the move in play, it was almost in slow motion. I could see Pereyra in acres of space and knew he would provide the perfect ball for Gray to tap in, but I also knew he would miss it. He's so bad it's actually funny.

Welbeck, I was really surprised he missed that one. He create it himself, but once he was in front of the keeper, I thought he would do something composed to score, but he did exactly what all our players do and hit it straight at the keeper. Some say he should have squared it to Gray, but who could be confident he'd have managed to steer the ball into an empty net? Gray is like having a keeper that lets in dolly shots every week. He's costing us just as much.

We looked more solid today, but then the opponents were one of the league's weaker attacks. Winnable games are running out now. I think come May, Sheff Utd, Brighton, Newcastle and Norwich will all be down there. We cannot afford to keep missing these chances.

Personally I see zero hope now. I think we've gone. I just cannot see how this team can win as many as 11 games.

After today, they seemed out on their feet again. Players lying on their backs, Pererya (one of our better players) was cramping up. If they played their hearts out, and it looks like they did, and all they could show was a 0-0 at home to Sheff Utd, then there can be no hope.

Pereyra played very well, but I think he's in the shop window and playing for a move in January. Kabs played very well also. Great game from him today.

I would expect Poch to be sacked in the international break, so Spurs will have a new manager to bounce back from conceding 10 goals in their last two games. They will smash us no doubt.

Sarr…..I'm so disappointed in what I've seen of him and I can't for the life of me see why they went all in for him. He's not ready for the Premier League. He looks completely out of his depth. Not saying he will not be good in the future, but he's not the player for now. Nowhere near good enough.

Gray was offside, so his miss doesn’t even matter, other than to demonstrate that he’s a bit crap.

No he wasn't. The linesman did not flag. The ball was squared to him and he missed it. A goal kick was awarded afterwards.

Some people are suggesting that today’s result is a good building block due to the clean sheet, which might possibly be true.
However, we have to remember this was Sheffield United at home. Sit back like we did today against the majority of teams in this league and we’ll more than likely be conceding a minimum of 1/2 goals per game & chasing the game. And if we’re not even going to consider trying to attack like we also showed today then it’s just going to result in a defeat or a 0-0 bore draw.
I know this is QSF’s style but I was really disappointed that we decided to sit back as much as we did, almost as if we were playing Man City or Liverpool. Today we really needed to take the game to Sheffield United but it was never going to happen with QSF.
I really doubt that playing as defensive as we did today will bring many or any more clean sheets. Yes we did today, but it was Sheffield United. Other teams will break us down.
I really hope that I am proven wrong & it does work out however I can only see us going one way, and that’s down.
Regarding the team, Kabasele was brilliant and Pererya wasn’t too bad. Doucoure was spectacularly bad today, I would’ve preferred Gavin Mahon in place of him today. Holebas and Cathcart also were terrible in my opinion.
Who knows, maybe we’ll go & best Spurs 3-0 in 2 weeks (in my dreams).

I'm jealous of those that have already accepted relegation, the rest of the season will be nice and easy for them as they can now relax and look towards preparing for the Championship. Mugs like me still have blind faith and will keep believing until it's not possible and ultimately feel like fools for wasting so much time watching/supporting the team if relegation happens.

You cannot know that for certain. Unless you have a side on angle, perfectly in line, you cannot really be 100% sure. When you watch TV and it's at an angle it can be deceiving.

If he was offside, then that's just as bad as the miss, as Gray had plenty of time to look across the line. He was on his own and under no pressure. There was no reason for him to have drifted offside.

The problem was Pereyra delayed the pass so Gray went from an onside position to an offside position. In fact, Pereyra had an opportunity to pass to the other player in the box who was also in a good position to score.

I don't want them to improve their confidence. I want them to know they are utter turds as they inevitably take us down. I don't want them feeling good and have a spring in their steps whilst they do it. Utter piles of **** that they are.
