In the posh seats in the Upper GT. Presume he's over here because he's getting treatment on his injury, unless he just fancied taking in a game?
There was a tout outside the ground selling them to all of the players, along with a free Monster drink!
https://twitter.com/watfordfc/status/1176851782556880897?s=21 Been at the training ground today. Highly doubtful but I wonder if QSF is unhappy with the strikers at his disposal. Given the story about us trying to get Joao Pedro in January, I wonder if the club are looking at avenues to get Cucho in as well? I’m sure it’s just a polite visit to his parent club but just a thought!
Given the malaise around our current squad, I think it makes sense to turn towards the younger, hopefully hungrier (not in the Deeney sense) players that we have. Guys like Quina, Wilmot, Dalhberg, and Sarr should be the building blocks for our future. I just can’t see the younger guys playing with the lack of urgency that some of our more established losers display. I would hope that Cucho and Joao Pedro fall into the same bracket.
I’d also wonder if the club are very keen to make sure that a similar situation to Penaranda doesn’t occur and cause exciting young careers to plateau.
Falling into a bracket will be at best 3 months rehabilitation. At worst could be a Carl Fletcher on Dream Team although that was arguable more of a hook.
Arrives in England and within 5 seconds he pulls......fair play to him. https://twitter.com/i/status/1176854902921822209
Could be signing his new deal? Chance for a photo opportunity, shaking hands with the big man while he signs it. The big man being Giraldi obviously.
He's in town having heard his source has managed to acquire a match-worn Aguero shirt and is ready to sell.
A player who managed to get 4 goals in 34 La Liga appearances is just what we need to save our season.
I've pointed this out elsewhere, but unfortunately I think the club has been a bit off in their succession planning - our more established players are generally too old now, while our promising younger players, such as the ones you mention, are still too wet behind the ears and can't all be expected to be consistent first team performers yet. We have a real lack of players in their peak years of 23-29.
Agree. We’ve done a pretty rubbish job of regenerating the squad as the current crop have begun to age, both in terms of signing replacements, or developing the young players we do have to replace the likes of Holebas, Foster, Deeney etc.
Half a season of Richarlison aside we have developed precisely nobody. Plenty of prospects have arrived and we fail comprehensively to develop them, so get left with Holebas, Foster, Mariappa, Deeney as they decline.
Here's his first training session at Watford https://twitter.com/i/status/1177546173919268864 RCD Mallorca retweeted:- RCD Mallorca @RCD_Mallorca · 2h COUNTDOWN!!!
Strange that he's been at the club during the last 2 international breaks? January arrival on the cards?
The loan was for the season and with him still injured I don't think we'd want him back yet. There was a report a week or two ago from a Mallorcan(sp?) regional newspaper stating he'd yet to visit RCD Mallorca, the club he's on loan with, because of his injury. They said the situation was somewhat ridiculous that he'd not even met his team mates and they couldn't confirm where he was getting treatment for his injury. That they're fourth or fifth from bottom of La Liga may have had something to do with their article, but it does seem strange not to have introduced yourself in some way.
Apparently started training with Mallorca for the first time this morning: http://sportwitness.co.uk/good-news-watford-player-finally-returns-training/
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2444337005884772 Good interview with Cucho. He's very much looking forward to playing for Watford in the near future.
1 goal in the last 12 months (21 appearances in total) domestically. Scored 3 v Tahiti for Colombia U21s though. Granted he spent a good bit of time injured but seems to be very badly out of form. Hopefully picks up over the second half of the season.
I watched Cucho and Mallorca against Real Sociedad today, Mallorca are absolutely awful. Cucho had one nice dribble that resulted in him taking a shot from the edge of the area but its unsurprising that he's yet to score - the team as a whole created very little.
