Might be worth uploading the still of the Chelsea equaliser yesterday. At first I thought the attacker was clearly onside because the two defenders are clearly playing him on. But then I realised that Chelsea were playing in light blue. It's absolutely staggering how it wasn't given. Perhaps as bad as City's goal vs us.
Seems to be a distinct lack of comment from a certain someone regarding Michael Oliver having been appointed to our semi-final....
So, looking ahead to cup final, if the FA stick to their policy of only giving it to each referee once then it's not going to be Oliver, Taylor, Moss, Probert, Marriner, Atkinson or Dean. For me that's most of the better ones gone. Probably mean Pawson, Mason, Tierney or Friend. Eeep.
It wont be Jon Moss, thank god, as he did the Carabao Cup final. Probably wont be Michael Last Minute Penalty Oliver or Taylor as they did the semi's, but I wouldn't mind Mariner or Atkinson. Both are a safe pair of hands. Dean would be decent, as he tends to favour the smaller club.
As they've already had an FA Cup Final each previously it's unlikely they'll get picked again. It's very much the second tier officials left now.
There hasn't been a referee who's taken two F.A. Cup Finals since 1901, so it's very much a once in a career honour for the referees. Roger East could be another one to throw into the mix (not particularly keen on him, but I thought he handled the Fulham game nicely the other night). He's been on the PL list for a good few years My gauge has always been "do you notice the ref during a match", i.e, how much is he getting on your bloody nerves. (Oliver has always been one of the "look at me, look at how important I am" brigade, though it worked in our favour for once yesterday). I would also be happy to see Tierney take the Final.
East started the season by failing his fitness test and being out of action until September, and has only had 8 PL appointments since, so I'd be surprised if he was rewarded with the FA Cup Final.
Hadn't realised that - as the old saying goes "If he's been out all season, he'd be fit enough at the end", lol. Anyway, as per previous comment, fingers crossed it'll be Tierney.
Kavanagh is the best outside Oliver City could still be trying to be the first club to complete the domestic treble, therefore it's likely to be Mike Dean. No way will he miss the opportunity of stealing the limelight and headlines
Actually, the one he gave Valencia I would say probably was a penalty, although a little soft, a bit like Deeney's on Sunday. He gave another as well, this time to Villareal. That was a terrible decision. Never a penalty. Valencia eventually won 3-1 with two classic breakaway goals in the 90th minute. It was a good game.
There s a lot to choose from but surely Jon Moss is the worst. Dont get the Oliver votes, surely we ve forgiven him for Leicester 2013 now, especially after he gave us a pen against Wolves on Sunday.
Can we have a vote on the referee you hate the most based mainly on their face ? Im going for assistant from last night ( not the one who gave the red) Gary Beswick
Just watching Man City v Tottenham. It’s been said loads on here about the amount of added time at the end of the game depending on the games outcome and low and behold there’s 5 mins added on with Man City chasing the game. What a load of ****, no where near 5 mins should be added, if it was Watford you would be lucky to get 3
It was so crystal clear that Spurs were playing the Watford role. Ref 60:40 Citeh & hopeless hoofing from Spurs. Note perfect. Maybe VAR is good.
As many have said on Twitter, it's ruined that game completely. You shouldn't be able to disallow a goal like that after your coach has run off up the touchline celebrating. I'm sure all Spurs will feel the same when sadly discussing the death of football in the pub after the game.
Well, to what extent has that ****ed our chances? ‘Pep’, preening & primping over the CL final, might possibly have forgotten about the FA Cup. But now it’s the Season Finale. The full force of the Citeh warriors will be unleashed upon Unsuspecting of Hertfordshire. The full intellect of the Bald Spaniard will be deployed to Nagasaki effect. Except, I don’t think it will. Monumental to beat them but, even if our players cost less, we have a cleverer manager. Pep is a one club golfer with fabulous pr support. Javi, who chooses not to behave like a spoilt adolescent at the first, tiny reversal & is not dressed for him by his other half, is a humble, admirable adult. We stand a chance!
Is the CL thread? Who knows? For the second night running, the good guys have triumphed in adversity. All things are relative. But Spurs are the Watford of the top 6. Low wages & skinny squad. Sans Kane, this was a very familiar battle against the big boys. Poch is fantastic & is rather similar to Javi. Insisting the squad grows stronger through weakness of missing players & super adaptable during the game. Pep is the perfect fit with the Plastic Entitled People.
thoughts on Friend? I think a good choice. & of course not surprised to see that weasel Scott involved with another game of ours.
Late in the Leicester title season, Friend was removed from a Spurs match because he's known to support Leicester. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36042805 So if Leicester finish seventh in the table and a Watford win would deny them Europe, will the FA or PGMOL do the same again?
Can I ask what it is specifically you have against Graham Scott? Every time he’s appointed in any capacity to our games you make a point of it - yet I really can’t remember him being any worse than any other official.
