See the stat I stole from Twitter in post 235...this wasn't just a great Watford moment, today was a first in modern football history. Simply outstanding.

What's better is we wholly deserved it, too! Even at 2-0 down we were arguably the better side, other than the scoreline.

Talk about a lot of emotions , around 50 mins I was in a state of abject despair , followed by resignation that we had lost , followed by pleasant surprise, then shock that we had scored to make 3:2. Don’t even know what emotion followed when we won (I think it was happiness but as a miserable old git don’t experience this often)

 

I was there in 84 at the semi and the final - this was better.

 

3 shots on target inc the penalty, and 3 goals. Amazing. Lets hope we take that conversion rate into the final !!

Wow.

Yellow tinted specs aside, one of the best games of football I’ve seen for a long, long time.

We’ve had a great season and I’ve loved it, but I’ve found myself less and less interested in football in general outside of our own games. I’d like to think that any neutral would’ve found that game about as entertaining as it gets.

It had absolutely everything, extreme drama and extreme quality.

And Gerry... it just goes to show that when he wants to turn up he’s truly world class.

Absolutely amazing stuff.

Up there with the Deeney Leicester moment and Agueroooo as well.

 

Football, bloody hell

 

Thought we created better chances from open play. Showed a lot of heart and energy even at 0.0. Switched off for both goals and it was heartbreaking to think we'd go out like that. But then what a turnaround, rope a doped them.

So so proud today. Players gave everything and got what they deserved.

Wasn't entirely convinced at the time, but how delighted am I that Gomes has got the chance to play in such a big game at Wembley, and what an ending!

This season has put so many ghosts of the recent past to bed! Crazy thing is we've still got something to fight for in the league too!

Way more exciting than the Aguero moment.

QPR were as solid as anything until they realised they were safe. Once they heard, they stopped chasing balls and basically gave up.

A dramatic moment, but I think any club in City’s position with an ounce of quality would have won that game.

One other point to add, Deeney. Before 2019 I’d genuinely written him off. I thought his best days were behind him and he was very much on the way down.

So far this year he has been every bit a quality premier league footballer. He’s scored goals, he’s assisted goals and he’s genuinely looked at home on the biggest stage there is. I’m not sure how it happened but I’m happy to hold my hands up and say I wrote him off far too soon.
