I liked this one from the BBC website at half time today:

Watford have only lost one of their last 22 home games in the Premier League when they've taken a half time lead (W17 D4), losing to Swansea in December 2017 (1-2).

I reckon Foster has been pretty much the best all round keeper in the Prem over the last few months.

A weird thing was when he just left the cross in the second half which hit the bar.

Did he judge it perfectly or just lose concentration?

    Difficult to think the latter.

I have been hiding behind the sofa since half time in the Liverpool game. Is it safe to come out now?

Great win and well fought by the lads. Deeney undoubtably MotM today. A very prime performance and made even better with a stunning assist to Gray. Oh and that goal wasn't too bad either.

Really pleased to see the confidence wasn't knocked after Liverpool. Thought Leicester were not bad and had ot been a draw then it was probably justified. Can't complain about the winner and what an explosion of joy when it went in. .

Grinded it out in poor conditions with a ref who hates us. Preyera needs to start getting noticed more. He was on the wing but apart from a few tidy bits of play I hardly saw anything. Good game from Hughes today. Thought the defence coped well overall, great having Holebas back. Foster solid again.

I knew Vardy would get his usual goal, he always does. Mapps was caught out for that but he has been solid overall so one lapse isnt the be and end all.

    Did we deserve it? No.

But we did show a bit of real class at the end to get thr win and hopefully breed a bit of steel for our next game. Thank you to all fans who went today. Especially the Javi is better than you chant.

Best person to ask that to is Vardy because he has had a prime seat on the bench on both occasions!

    Quote from Foxes Talk fwiw:

Finally, for Watford Deeney was outstanding. It seems amazing he rarely got a game when Silva was manager. I remember we were trying to buy him a few seasons ago before we bought Slimani but Watford were wanting too much money. We could do with somebody lke him fornext season...

Our Troy seems to get the Marmite treatment from everyone - our coaches, our fans, oppo fans, media, England managers - it’s either love him or ...

In terms of what we deliver on the pitch, it’ll take a while to wash the stink of Puel out. I’m prepared for it to take a while, I’ve gone into my feelings on Rodgers in the Puel Sacked thread but basically if he can deliver us two or three good seasons before he skanks us for for a better job then great.

I’ve seen some of our passing stats for yesterday and they’re not good, we’ll see how that plays out with the change of style I guess. It’s a horrible game to have after only two or three days of the new manager, with Watford being so solid and Rodgers not having many tools at his disposal..... Other than himself.....

I've wondered that, but I've also genuinely wondered what the rationale is for players to take off their shirts in the first place?

Catwalk model who sometimes invites her equally hot best mate round for a 3 some. (spurs/chelsea last season/everton home & palace/cardiff/wolves away were all catwalk model 3 somes metaphorically speaking)

Apparently it was brought in to stop players showing sponsorship or political messages under their shirts. Troy found a loophole in his greggs sponsorship though by simply showing his moobs.

Sietes had a playful cartoon hornet on his forearm with the words "s**t on l*t*n" underneath.

Didier N'dong had a full colour image of vicarage road on his back.

Talking of Gray, I think Gracia is using him perfectly. Coming off as an impact sub is exactly how he should be used, and until other parts of his game improve he cannot really be trusted to start games on a regular basis....IMO.

I think Gray only touched the ball once in 20 minutes after coming on, and that was a misplaced pass which set Leicester on a dangerous attack. His second touch was a very good take from a Deeney pass, third touch was an excellent finish for his goal (the first time I've ever seen him take a 1v1 chance in a Watford shirt). His fourth touch was another misplaced pass which set Leicester on another attack.

He has to improve basic things like being able to make a simple pass, so we retain possession and keep our attacks flowing. Far too often it all breaks down when the ball gets to Gray.

Sounds like I'm having a go, and I'm not. These are areas of his play that lets him down, and is the main reason why Gracia doesn't start him I suspect.

Where Gray is very good, is playing on the shoulder, stretching teams. He does work hard and makes a lot of unselfish runs. That's his game though. Running off the shoulder and being alive in the 6 yard box. If only he wasn't so poor at other things, we'd have a great player on our hands.

He's won us the last two home games, and it's no longer a groan when you see him come on. It's now a positive thing as you know he has the ability to sniff out a goal.

His goals to minutes ratio is surprisingly very good, but his overall play does not provide enough for the team. For example, Deeney is involved in a lot of areas. He's one of our best defenders at set plays, can play deep behind the striker and is also as a target man. The way Deeney is performing right now, he's undroppable…….and he's even scoring goals.

But I do recognise it's a fine line between making an inspired substitution or making the wrong call. Had Morgan headed in a very presentable chance on 89 minutes, it would have been a heartbreak defeat and people would be saying why take off Deulofeo. Gray did absolutely nothing when he came on. However, the chance was missed which led to Gray's goal moments later and he's a hero and Gracia is a genius. Fine lines indeed.

If Deeney's (arguably offside by a whisker) goal is the sort that will be disallowed by VAR, next season may well be my last. Who cares if ref/linesman decisions are marginally right or wrong? The armchair fans and pundits that obsess over replays on contentious moments thats who. I wonder if people will still turn on Sky to watch matches played in virtually empty stadiums when the game has been diminished as a live spectator sport by the current obsession with getting things 'right'?
    That aside, a great win.

I don't think anybody has mentioned that a couple of minutes before Del came off, Foster was shaping to play the ball out to him and he motioned that he didn't want it. Was he a bit injured or feeling unwell?

Clubs complained as they were getting complaints from sponsors. At a time a player has scored the cameras are on him and so it should mean maximum exposure for the sponsor and obviously the short being taken off removes that impact, and we all know the Premier League is about finance rather than sheer football emotion and joy.

Interesting analysis of Gray's game. I don't think we should be surprised by his minutes per goal. In the championship his mpg was better than Deeney, Vydra and Ighalo and in the top flight for Watford I'd imagine it's the best mpg of any player in our history who played more than a handful of games. Better than Luther, Mo etc.

Was it me or was the atmosphere largely terrible yesterday? It wasn't until John Moss booked both Doucoure and Capoue that it picked up but that was verging on 80 minutes.
