Man of the match tonight has to be this Telegraph reporter, who managed to work 'obstreperous' into his post-match report. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...rst-fa-cup-quarter-final-spot-qpr-rue-missed/
We are the first team through to the quarter finals, we can sit back and relax whilst the other 14 teams battle it out for the other 7 places available!
Good shout. There’s some interesting early/mid period live footage. They gradually limit their expression & pave the way for the robot thing.
I can't help but agree. If you were to swap us out tonight with any other Premier League team outside the top six, the game would've followed a similar pattern. Even those inside the top six may have struggled to break QPR down. Under the lights, on their own turf, full house, nothing to lose. Ok, criticise the team, but I've got zero time for those who have literally nothing positive to say when we're through to only our second QF in what must be well over a decade.
They successfully addressed the issue of being 4 guys in their 60s as a rock show. Is the DiP viewing happening downstairs?
Mrs Keighley is dining at All Souls College, Oxford this evening. Get her. At least I could watch the match.
Ref was decent. Think he got most of the big called right and didn't make any unnecessary shouts. I'm not even too bothered about the offside shout for Greg's goal. It looked off in normal time
Literally nobody is being overly critical of that game. Literally everyone saying its job done though not pretty and we rode our luck at times. Strange then, thst several people seem to need to argue against a sea of discontent that doesn't even exist
We are now sitting in a restaurant in Westfield . Have forgotten all about the match and relaxing in the knowledge we are through and can watch everyone else over the weekend try to get the same . Lower tier not as bad a view as I recall but then there was nothing really to watch - although that guys miss in the last minute is getting multiple views on the phones now
Professional performance and never looked in trouble. Hughes was poor and just as Sema started beating his man we took him off! Not pretty but we’re through so who cares. Not great scenes outside the ground though
In a weird ‘break the casino’ coincidence, both goalies had birthdays today. Ours was older by 14 years.
How did QPR not score? Ha! Sign of a good team is playing **** like we have done the last month or so yet still pick up points/wins. Great atmosphere made the game half decent.
perfect game plan tonight. an exciting end to end local derby under the lights in a packed stadium could easily have seen us knocked out. not worth the risk. we knew we'd have a chance to score and we knew we could keep a clean sheet. mission accomplished. fans who want a trip to wembley cant have it both ways. we're on our way.......
I suppose the reason he gave Tom a game is to try to get him back up to speed after that long injury. He might not be 100%, but he's still got enough about him to snuff out any threat from those pork stranglers. I had forgotten how hoof'emup huffpuff championshit football is. You get used to seeing quality players every week and QPR were not that. Freeman had a fair game, but really it was a one man effort. Some very, very average players in that QPR team. We always looked like a Rolls Royce up against an R reg escort. And now, in the warm glow of a couple of celebratory after match glasses of celebratory rum, I am also inclined to look fondly on our Kenneth's Maradona turn and how hard he tried. For me the lad is worthy of a squad place. He offers something different. Put a couple of decent crosses in too.
