Remember playing them in the League Cup 1/4 final in 2001.

Vialli played David Noble up front and we lost 4-0!

That matched Millwall under Nutty Walt for sheer ineptitude.
    My word what a day.

Why was it a drop ball after the Wednesday decision was overturned, the ball clearly went out for a corner so why was that not given once it was decided it was not a penalty?

Alex Scott says she's baffled why Spurs rested players vs Palace because they're next game is only at home to Watford.

Tbf she is a relatively new pundit to the men’s game.
She’s spent her research time getting up to speed on every player in the big 6 squads and maybe some time on Lesta to keep in with influential big ears.

As a relative junior she’s trying to keep in with her male punditry colleagues by deliberately refusing to research anything on clubs like Watford - she can’t get ahead of herself and show them up, it’s not part of her BBC (female, lower) pay scale.

As soon as the penalty's given the ball's dead. Sheff Weds should have contested the drop ball but I think so many aren't these days your average thick as mince footballer forgets they can.

So just need Man Utd and Man City to be drawn against each other, followed by Chelsea and Wolves.

She can't even get that right...
Surely she should say " their next home game is only against little Watford, and Spurs should be beating the likes of them"

Of the 3 remaining out of the big 6, they all have European matches around the time of the 5th round (remember City @ Wigan last season in round 5), if any of them get a poor result in their first leg ties then the 5th round will be a much lower priority.

Then do we win the final 7-0 or perhaps 5-4 after being 0-4 down , Cathcart hat-trick ?

Before the first balls are drawn as it stands we have a 60% chance of being drawn against a non P.L. team (15 other teams with max of 6 P.L. Teams), hopefully the first draw with be 2 P.L. teams together which would then give the other P.L. teams a 70% chance of avoiding a P.L. team! Brighton have got to replay at West Brom which won't be easy!

Avoid the two Manchester clubs and we have the best chance of getting to the final that we have had in recent years and I include 2013 in that! Remaining teams:-

    1. Swansea City
      AFC Wimbledon
      Shrewsbury or Wolves
      Millwall
      Brighton or West Brom
      Bristol City
      Derby
      Doncaster
      Chelsea
      Watford
      Middlesbrough or Newport
      Man City
      Barnet or Brentford
      Portsmouth or QPR
      Man Utd
      Crystal Palace

And we will still contrive a way to lose whoever we draw, doubly the case for Millwall or Palace

If you factor a 50% chance of WBA beating Brighton and a 25% chance of Shrewsbury beating Wolves, our chances of actually playing a PL club in the 5th round reduce to 35%.

    Just saying.

I can't wait to get the easy route to Wembley to face Man City in the final and lose 8-0.

Man City at Millwall please. If anything’s going to stop City it’s Millwalls pitch which resembled a map of the Somme.

I was pleased to see Spurs go out as I am with any of the big 6. However, if we don’t win the Cup but we manage to finish 7th don’t we need one of the big 6 to win the cup for us to get into Europe? I still root for the underdogs in my heart but it is potentially more confusing these days.

If we were truly going for the FA Cup then there wouldn't have been 11 changes on Saturday. Don't get your hopes up.

Well 2 of the top 4 are in the league cup final so let's see what happens in the FA Cup. 7th in the league will still be hard for us and more likely we end up lower but you never know. The next 3 matches will be important towards that target.

Agreed. Saturday was a fig leaf because of the god-awful opposition and obviously as we won. But when he puts out the same team against Man City it might just click with people that the cup isn't on the Pozzo radar.

One could say results wise the first eleven are under achieving and the second eleven over achieving!

Pretty much yes. As the EFL Cup final is between two teams who will probably finish in the top 4, the 6th place team will now get a Europa Cup berth.

The only two ways that 7th would get a place this season would if (a) someone in the top 6 wins the FA Cup or (b) Arsenal or Chelsea finish outside of the top 4 but win the Europa League.

If both of the above happen then the 8th placed team would get a Europa League place.
