Although harsh, my favourite comment on the West Ham forum is: "When Deeney smiles, thousands of butterflies die and millions of flowers wither."
Not good enough on this season's showing. Only way he makes the match day squad at the moment is in an injury/suspension crisis.
http://westhamfans.org/content/well-thats-ruined-christmas-deeney-panto-villain-hum-bug lots of West Ham diatribe about rough old Watfords anti football. From a team containing Andy Carroll.
That's what I thought. Cleverly, Cathcart & Mapps. See my post #285 for a video of the three of them discussing Lloyd's goal.
Last 2 results have cheered me up no end. Anything from Chelsea would be a nice bonus present. Feel like we could beat, or indeed lose ti, anyone at the minute, but loving the football we are conjuring up. Hope everyone stays fit! Happy Christmas all you Hornets!
I was one of the ones a bit miffed that Quina was dropped to the bench, but fair play to Javi, he got it right. As predicted by many, it was an open game that could have quite easily finished 4-3 had both teams had their shooting boots on. Thankfully they didn’t. I am rather bemused as to why the west ham fans are giving it a good ol’ whinge about Lee Mason. With no biasness involved, I thought he reffed the game quite evenly. There was no controversial decision that he didn’t give them and he didn’t favour us in any way. You know you are a sore loser when you are clutching at straws about a wall not being exactly 10 yards as to why you lost. As for the other complaint about us time-wasting, what team in prem doesn’t do this, especially away from home when you’re winning. I think this is the first good game Lee Mason has had whilst reffing one of our games. They should be grateful he didn’t send their CB off for the pen, had that been Kabasele, he would have ran with his red card immediately showing. It was a great game, and we played brilliantly. I’m glad Deeney gave it back to the West Ham fans. They were giving large, so he gave it back, nothing wrong with it. Excellent performance all round for our boys. Foster definitely kept us in with some big saves, but Fabianski also kept them in as well. A draw wouldn’t have been an unfair result but if any team deserved all 3 points, it was us based on our performance. Great Christmas present. The only disappointment today was Chelsea losing, unfortunately I think we will feel their wrath. However our confidence is back, keep it tight, smash Hazard a few times and we could take all three points again. If offered a point now though, I would take it.
I thought mason was **** today red card with the penalty lots of 50/50 decisions swayed by the home fans. But never mind him has our luck finally swung in our favour ? A few week ago that would of been 2-0 Wet spam. Can't believe lots of us think Chelsea are going to sweep us aside, the momentum is with us we're at home and their the team that's hit or miss right now, come on Orn's have some faith. As for today's player performances Foster has to be MOTM but Holebas a close second, if Holebas' dead balls were better then he could of edged it for me. Never took much to suss Sema out his right foot is def for standing on and it could of easy cost us today. Fermenia could of attacked more as Anderson doesn't track back at all but I think he was being to cautious of Anderson getting in behind him. Del Boy and Bobby p are just a joy to watch in a Watford shirt nice to see Capoue playing well in December too. Troy needs to stay off the mince pies over the holidays and get that sharpness back he had in August but today I thought he was fouled a lot and never got much from mason. If I was Javi I think I'd of made some changes a bit sooner especially Sema today, but I also was thinking Del Boy was looking tired so it's a good job I'm not Javi. Oh and everyone saying we need a few more wins to stay up we've not been in a relegation fight yet let's concentrate on finishing as high as possible. Merry Christmas all I'm certainly in very positive mood and more than happy with this current watford camp
Oddly enough, Muff spanked Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge before we humiliated them 4-1. Leicester won at Stamford Bridge today... and it’s us next away fro them. Coincidence or just good timing?
We got away with it today but Kabasele was crap again Competent CB to partner Cathcart is badly needed
Antonio was at QPR a while back. Going to go with him, Cleverley and Cathcart? Edit: Never mind was thinking of Reading..and also you said for Watford! Cleverley, Cathcart, Mariappa?
Is there a better English keeper than Foster at the moment? Clearly not Pickford who’s a decent shot stopper & no more.
Quote from discussion about TD on KUMB. "That big round head of his reminds me of a punchball. Could gladly practice punch combinations on the horrible ****, something about him has always wound me up." I don't think I would be in a hurry to "practice punch combinations" with our captain.
I forgot about that double jeopardy rule, so disregard my comment on the red card. But I still think mason gave a lot of decisions West Hams way and if the result was different I think we would of been complaining again.
