There wasn't much difference between that celebration and other goals he's scored this season. Worth mentioning he had been booed by your fans since the start (I wondered if you might have been ambivalent about him), and he deliberately ran in the opposite direction from your fans to the corner where his mates were up in the bit that used as a TV studio for Sunday games. No problem with you not liking the guy but picking on the celebration as a reason for it seems unusual?
What a pity Vincent Price is dead. I have a sister in law named Begonia. She knows nothing of football. So am I. My mood wasn't helped by Lewis, the well intentioned Arsenal supporting member of my squad last night saying "good free kick". Assume John Thaw voice and... "Lewis".
Pretty usual, I would say. Unfortunately. Never pass up an opportunity for artificially-generated outrage. Indeed, if necessary, invent one. As did the obscure newsrag which helped start this. At least 50% of the reason for a football forum to exist. After all, isn't football "more important" than life and death? As the man said. Silly old fool, as I'm sure all blue people would agree.
My reason is the same as that of Javi Gracia. After Silva left, Richarlison failed to do anything for us. In fact, he consistently played so poorly, he eventually even lost his starting spot and was dropped to the bench. We saw no goals. Of course players go through barren spells and lose form sometimes. Perhaps it was down to that. But it seems very bloody suspicious that he's now suddenly sprung back to life again. Maybe the miraculous return to goal scoring form is because he's surrounded with better players? Maybe. Maybe. But my strong suspicion is that he'd got the message that your lot were going to take him at any price, so he knew he was on the way out. And knowing that, he wasn't very bothered. Failed to give it 100%. Didn't give his all for the cause and the shirt. And I'm sure you would (and perhaps have?) similarly curse anyone who turned out in your colours and doesn't give it his all.
Yep, that's perfectly fair comment. He's been very good for us and works extremely hard. If he didn't have that workrate or application for you guys, then fair enough. The mitigating factors may have been the lack of a break and/or him working better in Silva's system, I don't know. And yes, I have very low opinions of players who turn out for us and don't give 100% (Schneiderlin and Mirallas would be the most recent examples, but there are others).
No problem with him celebrating, but thought he was a bit of a bell-end with how he celebrating. The thumping the badge thing seemed a bit disrespectful imo
Bad news: no Begonias feature in PGW’s oeuvre. Excellent news: his most famous leading lady was one Madeline Bassett!
He did that when he scored for us at Bournemouth last season. I have no issues with him celebrating at all. He didn't rush over to us to do it so I don't see it as an issue.
