If we lose this, then it's the end of Javi and the end of this team as a unit. We'd have to see wholesale changes throughout the playing side if this game is anything other than a comfortable home win.

If we lose then I expect the Pozzos to sell up and **** off. End of.

Just the sort of game we will lose, but hopefully that sort of thing is in the past.

That'd be the 0-0 draw, where they shut up shop and every shot we take gets blocked, or isn't hit right and goes tamely through to the keeper, or whistles over the bar.

1 shot off target for them all game and 33 shots for us with two (technically) on target.

Was hoping to come up to this with my 11 year old daughter, but they don't have 2 seats together in the family stand. Is it worth risking getting 2 separate and then on the day find 2 spaces together from no shows?

I would have thought that vs Huddersfield there's every chance. I went to this same game last year (the Holebas sit down whupping) and was in the family stand and there were dozens of empty seats and lots of them together.

Well it's good news then as she's been 4 or 5 times before, we've won every game and not conceded a single goal!

Bring her please! A good luck charm and a good omen too. If we win then Deeney can buy her an ice cream and he’s paying as he’s on a diet now. ;)

Not often we're 89% to win a game in Super6.

Admittedly we've only been on about 3 this year so far as it's mostly 3pm KOs!

Yes absolutely. You'll get decent seats too, with space either side. No doubt about it whatsoever.

I heard he tasted delicious afterwards as well...which is more than can be said for Lawro.

Hed be all sinewy and dry like an old school dinner. I certainly wouldnt waste some fava beans and a nice Chianti on him.

That lot from Emerdale have to win at some point, it could easily be this weekend as we are all aware and they will travel down here looking at it as a game they can get some points. Hopefully get an early goal calm any doubts and comfortable move on to the next game. Looking at these up coming fixtures we have 9 points already but I done that with muff. Typical Watford get beat by these cloggers lets hope that doesn't happen, a game for Hughes to perform, be interesting to see who Javi has up top for this one, a good headache for him to have. I'll predict 1-0 the Orn's with not a lot to talk about.

Quite a few of you acknowledging this could be a 'banana-skin'of a match. It's pretty much a definitive example: As has been pointed out, very few (any?) of the Huddersfield players would displace their Watford counterparts from a team. They seem to find it near impossible to score a goal. Watford have just turned over much-fancied Wolves. But they beat us twice last season! I think there is a fair amount of 'don't-tempt-fate' superstition going on.
People who went to Wolves will verify the media didn't really emphasize Watford's first-half supremacy enough. We were playing them off the park.
But.. In fact this supremacy didn't surface until after the two goals and Wolves were in shock and had no Plan B. The first goal was a bit of a freak: You won't convince me Capoue meant to nutmeg Coady from 30 yards. But credit to him, he had a go and it paid off. The second goal was brilliant, never mind whether their defending was poor,it was superbly executed. Wolves were on the ropes, eyes going round in opposite directions.
So how come that was the end of the scoring? A - Watford are short of a ruthless goalscorer. B - Wolves ditto. We are reluctant to let fly at chances early and generate too few chances, anyway; they simply kept missing the target.
Let's suppose Huddersfield decide to not compete with our ball-playing midfield, but pass over the top of them (unlike Wolves). Suppose their formation is something like Goalkeeper - 9 - 1. Will Watford end up passing sideways, in front of their defence, and generating very few chances? Will a single mistake by an inattentive defence let in Hudders for their one and only chance? (Kabasele rashly jumping in to tackle in the penalty area in the 94th minute? Would he ever?). Never mind superstition, these are real possibilities.
It shouldn't happen, of course. But Watford have to try to expose defenders to the skills of Pereyra and Delofeu in the penalty area and force the issue of trying to score goals. Shoot on sight might be a good policy here, not 'be patient' and try to work a wonder goal. And take a cue from Capoue's goal - " Hit it early, hit it hard, hit it on target and let the keeper worry about it." (Bobby Charlton - who knew a bit about goalscoring).
